I had same with Hartge Head so mate done it in situ, new Irwin drill bits and a dewalt angled drill. Measure depth off hole and put tape round drill bit so u don't go to far in and go through water jacket.

Try and get hold of a "centre drill".
Its very good quality high speed steel which means it`s hard enough for the job but still remains relatively flexible (compared to carbide) and will give you a good start for your drill which is vital .
E bay may have them and I would suggest a number 4.

This could also work but you really need to provide a start for the drill bit first , take it steady and try and use some type of oil/grease/lubricant to give it some help. This also applies to the drill bit and don't make the common mistake of going "hell for leather" speed wise as this will just burn out your bit.Avinit4 wrote:Oh I bought Dormer A101 HSS ST Straight Shank Left Hand Jobber Drill Din 338 thinking would be good enough but I guess not and will look for what you have said..
