i'm running a Fritz Bits manifold and exhaust and it sounds divine! looks nice too
They seemed pleasant enough to deal with, thought my car has never been down there.

Indeed. I had quite a bit of work done with them all in one go.Rav335uk wrote:I'm sure a certain M30 white cab had some issues
Auto to manual gearbox conversion, and new diff, they did very well indeed. Very professional, high quality fabrication of bits they needed to.
Chipped ECU the jury is still out on, as I have some low throttle fuelling issues that were not there prior to the chip. Very possibly coincidental however.
The bad news relates to suspension. They supplied wholly unsuitable kit for my requirements, and fitted it so badly/dangerously it rubbed on the tyres. They did fix it eventually, at their cost, but the hassle was huge.
I doubt I will use them again, and cannot really recommend them. I get on well with both Richards that run the place, but I don't trust them to get it right first time (or second time) round.
Their dyno is a little optimistic too, as said above. Only slightly though, my car made 249 crank HP on Fritx's dyno after all this work, and made 195 wheel HP on Circuit Motors dyno a month later. Not the world's *most* exaggerated correction factor.
Martin.

Shouldn't have been any fabrication I woudn't have thought..MJJ_ZX6RR wrote:Auto to manual gearbox conversion, and new diff, they did very well indeed. Very professional, high quality fabrication of bits they needed to.Rav335uk wrote:I'm sure a certain M30 white cab had some issues

Minor stuff really, bracket to mount the clutch fluid reservoir and a couple of small mods to move things that needed relocating.Jhonno wrote:Shouldn't have been any fabrication I woudn't have thought..

So there rollers over read by about 15bhp as there will be a loss between crank and wheel horse powerMJJ_ZX6RR wrote:nd.

Assume yours is about 234bhp then if its 195 at the wheels ?
Tbh most rollers read differently and a lot of places dont bother having them re-calibrated
There is a place nearish to me and he openly admits his rollers are out by about 10bhp but he doesnt do rolling road days , He sets cars up on the rollers so gives him a before and after figure so he knows how much he has gained out of the car , Silly i know
Never used fritz either so cant comment on there service

roller figures should only be used to see the general health of an engine and any increases gained before and after mods/mapping
i always use the same rollers
to get realistic power figures you need to get onto a newer dyno like dyno dynamics which the likes of evolve/power engineering/thorney/surrey RR have and go there for a reading and not for work
but even then, its always a ball park

I believe it was primarily designed for the M50 so that is very possible..wrcarter wrote:I have heard that the manifold they sell for tha S50 conversion is not adequate. The bore size of the pipes is too small and can cause runing issues like overheating. Can anyone confirm this?
I have yet to see one though.
I am running one on mine and when i was having issues with it not running quite right i borrowed a btb and tried that, there wasn't any noticeable difference with the running of the engine between the 2.Jhonno wrote:I believe it was primarily designed for the M50 so that is very possible..wrcarter wrote:I have heard that the manifold they sell for tha S50 conversion is not adequate. I’ve never had it on a rolling road though so not sure on if it’s down on power due to the manifold.
I’ll post some pics of it when I get home

Is that the S50 Manifold as it looks to "hug" the block a lot closer that the one I bought from them 3.5 years ago fo my M52 ?Peet wrote:Few pics of the manifold, all seems to be well made
Can't fault the quality of mine, also took the car down there for a Rolling Road day and performed exactly as expected.
In comparison to the pictures Peet has posted I would say the Fritz manifold has larger bores.wrcarter wrote:I have heard that the manifold they sell for tha S50 conversion is not adequate. I am unsure if this is a good thing or not. It would be nice to do some proper back to back rolling road sessions to see whats what.

Note the lack of an 'X' pipe...

I got mine earlier this year and it worked out at £870 ish postedDanThe wrote:Bore sizes look fine to me, I wouldnt be worried about fitting one to an S50, isnt there something like £1500 difference in cost between the two?
Thats why I was considering a full Fritz bitz exhaust system as opposed to the BTB. They are meant to soundDanThe wrote:Bore sizes look fine to me, I wouldnt be worried about fitting one to an S50, isnt there something like £1500 difference in cost between the two?
