Any newbies that want a classic original BMW E30 325i?

To all those aspiring BMW E30 325i owners?
I found this. If I did not have mine i might be tempted. It looks great and would suit someone who wanted an original car and would be looking to keep it in original condition.
Only downside is there is no limited-slip differential. Got no idea what the body is like.

Yeah i would not buy that drift in. For a BMW E30 drift car you want something real cheap ideally.

I thought BMW E30s 2-doors/4-doors were made up until H registration.
I think the E36 came out on J reg. This must have been one of the last ones manufactured and registered. Nice colour. Just a shame the specification does not have nice leather. Really nice looking though got to admit. I would have that any day over a E36.

I didnt realise the glovebox and this bit around the manual gearbox was only in black not in grey too? was that an option or only available in later cars?

Very nice car. Side skirts are nasty because they very often hide a huge amount of mud, sand and rust

Unless you push the car hard on a regular basis an LSD makes no difference whatsoever to how it drives.

Solid E30's be it 2 doors, 4 doors or tourings are VERY hard to come by now. Even if they look good, a little dig around will show up more than you would imagine.

Most are rotten turd's by now.

Bit of a generalisation(sp) don't you think? I know a few drifters who have a great respect for their E30's and spend an awful lot of time (and money) making sure that their cars are well maintained and kept looking presentable.

The E30 is a great car for drifting, and personally, I like to see them out there showing the Jap boys a thing or two...

I have should know. I rescued my chromie from a driffter before he could ruin it. Its now a very worthy road car.

These cars both look fine to me, and the black V8 has recently been resprayed (again) and had a new bodykit fitted.

Peter Green occasionally posts on here, but is put off by the drift haters, which is a real shame his car is one of my favourite E30's, which I have been priveleged to whitness the development of.

Yes some drifters buy cars and thrash them until they are dead, but not all are so disrespectful of their E30, and like Rob said most often they are £200 turds with no chance of getting another MoT any way so wheres the harm?

With the minor body things sorted and if one keeps the miles low, this can only appreciate imo.

a 325i with 4 doors or a 325i Touring makes a decent wolf in sheep's clothing especially if debadged. a good example of ANY BMW E30 does not deserve to be broken.

a 325i with 2 doors has a little less mass than the 4 door cars and a bit more stylish otherwise they are fundamentally the same.

Drifting.
I think drifting is great fun though i am new to drifting. I think drifting in a BMW E30 is great especially in a sub £500 car on its way out or on a BMW E30 which is not perfectly original.

Perfectly original BMW E30s in my opinion deserve to be PRESERVED. Held as an example of what a real prestine BMW E30 handles/drives/looks/feels like for generations to come. Nothing wrong enjoying the car for what it is when driving the BMW E30. Personally would not like to see a great prestine original BMW E30 turned into a track car when a lesser one would fit this just as well. Hope you follow my point.

nothing wrong with tourings, they are estates so are supposed to have 5 doors, end of the day why would you chose a 4 door when a 2 door model is available, an e30's are not rare and solid examples are relatively easy to find, especially tourings.

It will make the car easier to control. However if you don't have sufficient talent to control an oversteering car you will crash whether you have an LSD fitted or not.

The E30 currently does not have a LSD. Therefore, whenever I leave my road and go on to the main road especially when large throttle openings the inside wheel naturally lights up ("catherine wheel") and leaves marks. However, i was wondering how this would change with a LSD wouldnt it be harder to control and wiggle all over the place?

The E30 having less mass than modern BMWs struggles to utilise the engine properly in corners sometimes though this is a road not a track. A track would be a totally different situation.
