Stevie have a go mate but take your time and do it right, Welding can be very dangerous and as you said it is best to remove the fuel tank. If you do tiny little stitches you will be fine.
And you guys are just that, leave him be if you cant give positive criticism dont bother. At least he has a go.

I haven't got the experience to help you mate but I think you could do it with a mate to help you hold stuff and pass you spanners etc.steviebmw wrote:thanks n8. where r u located
I am also too far away and don't have time myself. Sorry
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Stevie some technical institutes offer welding courses that last maybe 6 weeks. I suggest you enroll yourself into one of these and learn how to use a mig welder and grinder.
After 6 weeks of welding you will become decent at it and be able to do most of it all your self, the only other thing you will need is a mate to hold a fire extinguisher, and some advice on the best way to weld your your car...
Most of that can be done over the internet.
If you put your mind to it Stevie you will do it. Then you can say you did it yourself.

Stevie, thankyou for posting the Orion- you are almost a legend!! What else have you done?
I also think you should just wade on in and have a go at the arches yourself. There are lots of people on here who are willing to offer advice (a load of p*ss-takers also but don't let that put you off) so go borrow/buy a trolley jack and some axel stands and get hacking with your tools!
Oh and thankyou for an awesome thread

Is Stevie for real? Surely not.
I have just seen this and can't believe my eyes.
37 wtf. Surely this is a wind up.
If not, why not? Fooking madness!

Oh c'mon Dezmond play nice now. I've asked to see these wonderful creations, let's not flame the guy for having the balls to do this
Stevie ill be honest with you
The cars a fookin mess
The drivers arch isnt even lined up properly and have you just riveted them on over the rust
Take anything of value off of it , Probably nothing tbh
And weigh it in !
If anyone buys that ill contribute 10% of the sale price to comic relief
As they must be having a laugh buying it
Chinese may be interested as apparently theres a shortage of value toasters at tesco
And wtf have you done to that poor onion , And fiesta 3 spokes

Come on, all (well, most) of you. The guy likes what he likes and does what he does. Fair play on him. Threads like this make me want to go out a torture my low mileage oem Touring with as much Halfords tat as I can fit on it.
How BORING would life, or the Zone (which is just a microcosm of it) be if everyone did the same thing?
Stevie has said on another thread that he has learning difficulties, so consider your pompous, self-righteous comments before you post 'em

all because you lot like bmws that look the same . i like doing mine different. when i had my black bmw people liked it as it was different to normal ones. not evey one shares the same opinion as you lot. the world would be a boring place if all cars looked the same and im not a sheep i dont follow suit but i also dont rip into people about there cars cos thats there personal choice. the only reason im selling the car is cos ive spent so much of my time helping others with there cars but when i ask for help they r either too busy or there women dont let em out
