Your photobucket username is 1970steve, which would suggest that you're 41 years old.
Thus we can conclude that you're either winding us up, or just a bit special. I'm going with the former.

To be fair to you stevie, you have a creative imagination and putting the lights of mk6 escort in an old Orion requires skill but sometimes I think if you concentrated your skills elsewhere you might make a decent motor.
Only problem is you strike me as the kind of person that is always looking to change things and then you crack on without thinking that in reality it might be a bit daft (eg holes in your bonnet).
Why don't you try and repair your E30 to a good standard and take pride in restoring a car "back to its former glory"
I think you might surprise yourself?

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

some people just dont get it duke, youre either of the style appriciate things as it with light mods/improvements, or your a cheeser customiser max power kind of person with no sense of style who watch pimp my ride, and then do things on the cheap, which makes it look 50 times worse
mate of mine bought a subaru, really nice clean original condition, within weeks he had flames up the side, a ghastly home made boot sound set up torying to make it look competition style all fancy, but home made look, and had re-painted by hand, yes by f**king hand with a brush- in silver all the center console bits and loads of halfords style chrome tryim bits in there, astonishing, yet cant get it when i say good lord what on earth have you done !!!
another mate at work, tried to rip it out of my escort, yet has a rover mg thing v8, "its only a rover" we say, hes put all angel eyes, led, strobe lights, n god knows what everywhere ,i bring up talk of a new bit for my e30, and hes like yeah im getting this or that, and im like wtf , you just dont get it
i like them types tho-makes us and our cars so much better

Yes you could mate! I'm going to have a go at one of mine and I've never welded before. You only need to borrow a pair of ramps/axle stands I'm sure one of your mates could lend?steviebmw wrote:i have a welder but i cant do the rear arches as the petrol take has to come out and i dont have any way to put it in the air to do it. and the inner rear arches need repairing and the outers need to be welder on. and need some help.
You know you like E30's why don't you have a go mate, don't know til you try.
And get that body kit in the bin fella, you could make a nice motor!

they just cant help byt fiddle, but dont get- that you can do the same and modding/tweeking/fiddling- but oem style, to make it better, which is much nicer and more satisfaction and enhances the car, or do things that get it back to its former glory in repairrh306 wrote:..over the years I think the zone has converted a few 'modder' types into OEM Homo's (or at least OEM+'ers). I agree. The guy is keen and obviously doesn't like sitting on his arse watching telly all day but channelled in the right direction he could make a nice E30.rh306 wrote:..over the years I think the zone has converted a few 'modder' types into OEM Homo's (or at least OEM+'ers). Stevie, hope you take it in, you've got a welder (thats the expensive bit done) all you need is some steel/consumables and mate to help you. Surely you could turn this car into nice shiney E30 as BMW intended?
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
Would you like it to be more standard but SOLID?steviebmw wrote:well at least i sold it now. but need as much help with my e30 as i can get
OR
Bodykit etc?

Vigilance is the key, in a careless moment I almost bought an Irish number plate for my onepolsta wrote:they just cant help byt fiddle, but dont get- that you can do the same and modding/tweeking/fiddling- but oem style, to make it better, which is much nicer and more satisfaction and enhances the car, or do things that get it back to its former glory in repairrh306 wrote:..over the years I think the zone has converted a few 'modder' types into OEM Homo's (or at least OEM+'ers). ...Surely it is only as tricky as cutting shapes into panels (which you can do) and unbolting the tank etc which you can do with the use of ramps/axle stands?steviebmw wrote:i can turn it into a nice e30 but need help with the rear arches
All you need to do then is weld in your new bits? If inner arches don't look amazing, as long as its solid who will see it?
