e36 328 brakes on a e30?
Moderator: martauto
I assume the OP was asking about the E36 calipers left over from the engine's donor car, not E38 4-pots?
E36 stuff doesn't bolt straight onto E30 hubs without messing about with adaptors etc.
The Alfa calipers I've seen while doing upgrades for them have a 100mm C>C on the bolts meaning they won't bolt straight up - but I've not seen every caliper Alfa ever made of course.
As you asked about an upgrade there's always the proven WMS route: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 9&start=24

i think the alfa 4 pots go on mk1 golf based stuff, i know the rear 4 pots from a 944 s2 go on the front of mk2 golf hubs, but all that has nothing to do with a bmw!!!
how hard is it to fit e36 legs? as im in the process of buying all the running gear off a e36.
well it will just be the hubs ill want, i want to go down the coilover route.
i can afford to go with the wms set up, looks nice though

The E38 calipers fit under the 17" alpina reps with 10mm spacers. They might fit 16" alloys not tested them yet. I managed to get a pair of E38 Brembo calipers on ebay for £70. So with a bit of luck you could have this setup for £250
BMW E30 Convertible - 2.5

True, though the 300mm.de ones need thick wheel spacers that change the offset/handling, the WMS ones keep the wheel where BMW intended (assuming we're talking 15" BBS as used by 95% of 15" people).Taxin wrote:WMS or 300mm.de are the only ones offering upgrades that fit under 15" at the moment.
