Its been 58p for about 2 months, last week it shot up to 64p after they were starved of gas for a day and a half by the supplier, who turned up Wednesday with a tanker full only to be also greeted with a price hike and explanation of "the Norwegians have been holding supplies back to try and drive the price up"
Looks like they succeeded, whoever it was

What p1sses me off is the first time I filled my tank after converting the car nearly 3 years ago is was 29p a litre! :x
Pretty-much the same here. This time last week my local was 59.9p/ltr. Today it's 64.9p/ltr. :(

The first couple of months I was running on LPG (summer '07) it was 39.9p/ltr here. Over 60% increase in less than 3 and a half years.

May be we should start a group buy from Bahrain :D

What work do you do out there if you don't mind me asking.

Have you all seen the gold price, that looks to have gone up a lot, my friend gave me this link last week. http://www.kitco.com/

Sadly you've still got to pay duty when you import it :(

I would be interested in an LPG conversion, especially if I used LPG central heating... and had some spare pipes and valves just lying around as "spares".

Gold is very good at the moment, was a worth while investment a few years ago when it was low, while the bellend Brown was flogging the countries gold reserves for pennies

Thats the way to do it, or if you know anybody that uses LPG forklift trucks and has a filling tank on site.
You can buy transfer pumps to fill up from cylinders but they are still quite expensive and by the time you pay for moving them about etc your only saving about 10p per litre

Nope, definitely not the Americans. Gold hasn't finished it's move yet, but it's getting late to get on it. Gold and oil move together, broadly, as investors move in and out of the 'commodity sector' - I predict oil will see $250 inside 5 years...

Yes, my £15 fill up is now a £25 fill up, when i first converted the car it was about 45p/L, now it's 65 and riseing...

It's making the E30's future look more uncertain.

Taking into account that my touring currently prefers Super (until I finally get the engine management sorted once-and-for-all) the price of petrol locally averages 123.9p/ltr and my local LPG station is 64.9p/ltr. LPG is still 52.5% the cost of petrol.
stonesie wrote:It's making the E30's future look more uncertain.
My touring is still no more expensive in terms of cost per mile than my wife's petrol-engined mk7 Fiesta. Until the Fiesta (or its replacement in 16 months time) becomes significantly cheaper to run than the LPGd touring, the touring's stays with us and gets used no less than now. :D

Don't hesitate....... Go for it!! :D It's the best thing I've ever done to my E30. Without it, I'd be driving some modern, expensive/impossible to DIY-repair, diesel shite now. :(

i've never understood the logic in hiking up fuel duty so high - surely it's the government shooting itself in the foot?
higher prices mean the cost of the good and services we do produce go up, and make them uncompetitive..

People should protest fuel at the same time as these students are doing. Hit them twice...

I'm up for a protest.

This the start of something beautiful? I bet we could rally up 20 atleast to meet in the capital... Then everyone else jumps on other forums and spreads the word... Before you know it, we'll have a small crowd of 100 which is big enough to chant, 'cheaper fuel!' Or something to that effect?

Actually, Jim, that's not such a bad idea. Most of us here are on more than one forum, the word could be spread that way. :D

I very serious about it too... All we need is to make a weekend of it some where... I always though out causing disruption on themotor ways by very gradually slowing down in all 4 lanes until a stand still, but the only problem is, it may cause accidents further back and thats not worth it.... But if you did it properly and graually, I think between 4 cars on each direction of each motorway up and down the country...

HAVOC! After a about 10 minutes of very slow rolling, even longer, pull away... The tail backs will already be over a mile long I would say (Talking rush hour) And if people up and down the uk did this on each main motor way, if would getnoticed within seconds.

OR, a protest in the street with some chanting. :? till good, but less impact. I think with the right advertisement though, we could easily get 100 zoners down there... The missus, the kids, mates, work collegeues...

Set a date! we're starting a revolution! Hehe

IMHO the only way to get the government to take notice would be to TOTALLY blockade all of the major city centres, as many large town centres as possible and all cross-channel ports, starting at 06hr00 on a Monday morning.
Force commerce to a virtual standstill - hit them where it hurts most.

most of the world (still!) use scada process control systems, most of which are distributed & remotely managed, thus hooked up to the net ..if you follow

What I was getting at was you stop deliveries to shops, transfers of hard cash to/from banks, etc, etc......
It also has the added bonus that if you can't deliver stuff, there's no point in moving it, so you don't put diesel in the lorries, which hits the Government's revenue.

But, yes, if you could disable SCADA in some way that would work as well.

The biggest problem is that we NEED fuel.
The b'stards in Government know for a fact that if we boycott and don't fill up this week, we'll all be out of fuel and filling up next week. They won't care, they'll just sit and wait.

Blocking the roads with vehicles that you have to buy fuel for to get to the blockades, and fuel required to drive slowly in the blockades (stopping totally would be illegal) is just putting money in their pockets too.

Wish they'd stop wasting 46 million pounds a day forking out to keep us in the bl**dy EU...
We'd all be better off then.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

logistics systems are also hooked up to the net - the era of physical showdowns is leaving us behind, cyber warfare is where it's at - 'the major shitstorm has begun'

So... What do we do then if we cant make an impact by protest or slowdowns?

:( I really want to do something... Fuel prices going up more in January and its just gone up again, by the end of feb we are gonna be over £1.30 per litre for unleaded. :( I only started driving in 2006 and I remember it being 80p a litre or so, and I was gutted when it went above the £1 mark, I said, they can never do that, it would cause an outrage....

At this rate it will be £2+ per litre in the next year or 2... :(

And I cant drive an eco friendly polo. :( Its just not right.

if 16 yr olds can gain launch codes, then turning a logistics database into an array of meaningless garbage should be pretty easy
