Why? You're ordering a part for a car that went out of production over 8 years ago. I agree it would be unacceptable if the part in question was something that was commonly replaced - wishbone, service items, brake discs, etc - but come on..... how many cars regularly get gearlevers replaced???e30-dk wrote:Its insane!
7 weeks for my 2.5 badge.Simon13 wrote:i waited 2 weeks for one of my C2 badges. i thought that was good! as the other one was 2-3 months i think.

Eight years is the entire production run of many models; in car terms it's an epoch. It's so old, even its replacement has been replaced, so there's certainly no reason for any manufacturer to stock parts for it.e30-dk wrote: ...but 8 years is bugger all tbh!
Be fair, a grand isn't THAT much. And if a part's not in stock, it's not in stock. Valued customer or not, what exactly do you want them to do to make it appear on the shelves?e30-dk wrote:... and after touching a grand on this conversion and build including ordered things like alpine white spray, belts, pulleys, nuts, gaskets bla bla bla (all of which were not on stock file) and other parts for the e30 in general, all spent in the same bmw garage I thought they would help a little more.

a grand is quite a lot to some people mate, especially at this time of year LOLBe fair, a grand isn't THAT much

Ford couldn't give a monkeys about anything other than the cars that they are producing - trying to find any NOS parts for the older models is a nightmare. I restored a 1972 Mk1 3 litre Capri a few years ago and even trying to get the most basic of parts took MONTHS. Panels etc took years (literally) of searching. And once you found genuine NOS stuff, you'd find that the hoarder who had stored it in his garage for the last 20 odd years wanted a FORTUNE for it.Simon13 wrote:ford don't take their past as seriously as bmw! Or bmws are built better and as a brand seeing its own older cars on the road ads to it reputation of well made tough cars
