Afaik they are all the same brightness, the 4300k/6000k etc numbers determine the
colour of the light emitted, not the strength of it.
As stated above, 4300k-6000k will be ok, beyond that they start taking on blue colouring and can cause trouble with the bacon

temperature of the light also affect the ammout of luminous flux. 4300k is 'brightest'

I know E39 OEM Xenons are 4300K. The blue tint seems to come from the actual headlight.

It's not exactly scientific but if you look at the bottom pic on this page
HID GUIDE and check out the brightness on the ground infront of the two cars you'll see the difference between 4300k and 6000k.

Well I have fitted 35w 6000k and they are more than bright enough, + they don't show blue. Well worth the upgrade.

If you were to fit these and you were lucky enough that your headlight adjusters worked before hand, would they work once fitted? Sorry if it's a dumb question

If your ordering a set get the 55w variant, I've gone from 6000k 35w to 4300k 55w and the difference is huge

Main beams are being re-wired with 100w brillant white bulbs. Normal main beam is useless with my new HID's

Your sites a bit confusing, CharlE30. Which is the precise kit you ordered, mate?

I've got a feeling it's H1, but I could be wrong, so lets hear from some of the guys that have actually fitted these.

Yes they would, unless the wiring was so tight that it caused issues - which I would seriously doubt. The only thing you do to the actual headlight is dig a hole in rear surface of the black cap that the wires go into and use that hole for the cable between the Ballast and the burner. The HID wiring takes the original cables which plug into the headlight and diverts them to the ballast.
So basically, no real change as far as the adjustment is concerned!

Where do people recomend to go? Been looking at getting a set of HID's for a while now, but dont want to get tat that will break in no time so a bit skeptical of Ebay, and heard a few bad stories of HID Direct? Any one able to recomend some where to get them from or even a certain user on Ebay that they have bought from and are happy with?

I've bought from two different ebay suppliers and the first set lasted about two years until the car was crushed and the second lot are 18months old and going strong heading into their second winter.
I'd just buy the cheapest possible from ebay, I'm convinced that they all come from China anyway so you may as well get them direct instead of paying a middleman.

8000k is borderline legal, they might give you hastle if you don't want that get 6000k or even 4300k you won't have any problems
