The difference with BMW,s recall and the likes of Toyota, is
that it is not the result of any accidents, and does,nt look like anything is
being covered up. Also, if i understand it correctly, there is a
mechanical Braking system that would enable the affected cars to
stop normally.

I expect this will be blown completely out of proportion, mostly by toyoto/jap victims, looks like its something to do with the hydraulic brake assist that works off the PAS pump on models with the V engines.
Not serious, think of it like loosing the vacuum to your brake servo

That,s because the average American is A. Unable to understand why the product
has been recalled. B. Too lazy to take the Product back.
C. Has eaten or shot said Product
D. Busy undergoing Therapy, due to Issues bought about because of Product recall.
Us Europeans are usually a little more stoic.

Recall was in 1997, and affected all E30's with a 1.4 bar coolant pressure cap.ah wrote:SHOULD OF BOUGHT AN E30! although my 87 more-door was recalled in 1990 something for cooling system as I remember.
The recall is still active, and there are still plenty of E30's around that haven't been taken back yet!
Seriously, this is minor, I receive the monthly VOSA recall notices at work, recalls happen all the time and for way worse than this, Peugeots were catching fire not long ago for gods sake. Once again as with Toyota the press are blowing it all out of proportion.

No what it means is that if the power assist goes, you can still break but it is a lot harder (ever tried braking in a car with a broken servo?)gooner1 wrote: Also, if i understand it correctly, there is a

It was probably the I-tie's greaseball hair-do that sent it up in a fireball.
