wiper motor problem
Moderator: martauto
My windshield wipers will move all the way across my windshield when on intermittent but when they stop they come to rest in the middle of the windshield (right in my line of sight) any ideas on what could be causing this? the motor works fine and moves them with no problem it just seems to be maybe timed wrong or has possibly slipped?

correct try the link that was sent just done mine earlier an worked tho i had no grease so used vaseline tho unsure how long it will last will repost if any issues but worked out very helpfull .....
The link is excellent but you might find the metal disc inside the motor is beyond repair. Both my E30's needed replacement motors - easy to buy through the zone - due to excessive corrosion. I think it must get scored by the contacts.

If they always stop in the middle of the windscreen, and exactly the same place on all modes then I'd suggest your linkage has slipped on the motor. If they stop in the normal position on continuous then I'd go for cleaning your contact disc.Jfogs wrote:My windshield wipers will move all the way across my windshield when on intermittent but when they stop they come to rest in the middle of the windshield (right in my line of sight) any ideas on what could be causing this? the motor works fine and moves them with no problem it just seems to be maybe timed wrong or has possibly slipped?

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?
