I use paisleyfreight.com a lot, never had a problem and generally next day delivery.

parcel2go are okay until something goes wrong and their customer service is sh1te !

i used parcelmonkey last week to send a computer, it was citylink that actually carried it. cost a fraction of anyone else i tried.. well impressed 
depends on what you want to send large car parts i use www.wheelcarrier.co.uk good for bumpers, doors and bootlids/bonnets and also wheels.
