Opinions on Alloys
Moderator: martauto
Just after some opinions on alloys my car is as the pic below. I want new wheels as mine have seen better days.
Have toyed with the idea of different style but really don't know which way to go?
If this were YOUR CAR what would you have?

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
Depends, just sold my Aprilia RSV so got cash but don't want to spend too much on just alloys cos the car isn't concourse its just BK's are tattyleeparkes wrote:Whats your budget?

Thought about these but wasn't sure if they look ok on a Tech II kit?

Yeah I do like the A's always have but just can't make my mind up! Always thought Alpina reps suit the Tech IIgra325i wrote:im sure they would look great..if i had the cash i,d be buying them right now, but i,ve got holidays to pay for this month

One is flat spotted and to be honest I want some shiney new ones just can't decide what to do...gra325i wrote:why not just get your BKs reconditioned then mate

With very, very few exceptions, if it wasn't available as an option with the car at the time (BBS, Alpina, Hartge etc.) then I wouldn't want them. I saw a beautiful E9 3.0 CS a couple of weeks ago but he had E30-style BBS wheels on it. Nice wheels, great car - but together? Just wrong, even the owner was embarrassed about having them on his otherwise completely original car. (Wouldn't give them to me though.)
BBS for you Duke, like leeparkes pic right under you.

I like 15" original BBS but they are just a little bit boring IMOaeberbach wrote:With very, very few exceptions, if it wasn't available as an option with the car at the time (BBS, Alpina, Hartge etc.) then I wouldn't want them. Need some picture inspiration....ross_jsy wrote:How about some real Alpina's?
Or be a hero and splash all your money from the RSV on some BBS RM's or RS'.
PS I miss my bike already

i agree..but then, im not one of these "anything non standard is gay" guys..i like my car to be very different from anything else on the roadDuke137 wrote:I like 15" original BBS but they are just a little bit boring IMO
i still see the beauty in standard cars but unfortunately most of the "oem boys" dont see the beauty in my car
I know what you mean OEM is cool if your car is completely OEM, mine is an IS with Mtech parts and a few subtle mods.gra325i wrote:i agree..but then, im not one of these "anything non standard is gay" guys..i like my car to be very different from anything else on the roadDuke137 wrote:I like 15" original BBS but they are just a little bit boring IMO

Original BBS's are great. Consider getting them sprayed a darker silver and then polish up the lip? Or be rude like me

I'm a fan of wide wheels and cross-spokes. That equals BBS RS's anyday, but there are many other decent x-spoke styles.
ESM do what seems to be a decent (and wide, allround or staggered) copy of the bbs rs's, but can't vouch for the quality.

Uni is killing the project.
Azev A's are hard to come by, I want a decent set as mine current alloys have seen better days...xavi1980 wrote:Azev a's all the way!
If Azev still manufactured them I would have gone for them for sure!
Nay, you make a good argument mate
I might go down the x-spoke with my Calypso red E30 project

These are what I have planned. 16" BBS splits. I think they are a pefect fit - correct me if im wrong anyone?

Or you can't go wrong with Hartge rims. If your feeling flush and think the BBS/Azevs are common..picture these on an E30
