Depends what I drive it like, I normally get about 120 miles from £18. (weird figure i know)

But I can easily burn £20 in 70 miles.

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I have a 318 8v touring and daren't work it out but I bet it's not much more than your 18. thinking of keeping the car as its all original and in good nic.

Sorry for the hijack but had thoughts of 318is conversion.

And where would that be? Anything short of the B road that links Great Broughton and Helmsley (yorkshire TT route I believe?) and I'll be disappointed!

I got 32mpg out of my last run, which I thought was horrendous, but glad to see it's normal now!

4.54 x £1.20 = £5.45 per gallon. £10 = 1.83 gallons x 32mpg = 58.6 miles

so you should be able to get 60 miles out of a tenner Shaz.

depends how i drive it.it returns around 30 mpg per 5 liters on the 1st butterfly and i've had 18 mpg per 5 ltrs on playing out.

this test was done from the 1st fuel light invitation.

wow

:? i get about 22mpg and 50miles to £10

best i ever had was 65miles to £10 (based on a long run of 260miles to £40)

What can be done to help mpg?

Before all the clowns in the circus department of the site pipe up, Yes some of us do actually drive with care and attention, so comments such as 'dont wear lead boots' or 'drive under 6000revs' are not required

think mines 25/35 odd, only been on the road 14 months so not an expert, i judge it from...the 1/4 tank line, to the half way line, christmas time that cost £10 to do, and for a few times id put £10 in every time it got to that line and reset the miles counter on the clocks and try n drive to see the best i could get, and best i got was 70 miles, recently thats like £13 with current prices :-x

recently done oil change, new plugs, cleaned air filter, and flushed wynns injector cleaner stuff, that is also said to dot he valves etc, and the mpg has improved since ive done all that ive noticed

Seriously???!! That's 54mpg! assusming £1.20 a litre 8O

I never got over 40mpg in mine and I used to try occassionally doing 55-60mph on a motorway to maximise my profit on mileage expenses for work!

I'm getting around 24mpg around town and not much better on my drive home. Best I managed was 34mpg on a long drive.

The bit of extra weight and 4.27diff wouldn't help mpg at all though (evolve and viper chip both the same)

I think you'll find when you do real world calculations nobody is getting over 25MPG. Ignore the OBC.

But the you lot all live up north and drive around between fields and stuff to get to the local post office all leisurely and no traffic lights etc etc...

If the OBC is so far out then I feel a little better with my calculations of poor MPG. I have stopped caring now and just drive how ever I feel, only live once and better enjoy it before petrol runs out :D

4-pot.

My E46 OBC is also a load of lies.

Ant, how can you honestly be getting 44MPG caned? Or are you winding us up?
