Ok to all the engine conversion people who have used electric fans on the radiator is there a certain type you'd recomend?

I've had a look on ebay and seen some decent ones but thought i'd get some opinions before i spent money on one..

thanx for replies

i got mine from fleabay and used on my s50 conversion no problems at all keeps the car very cool, just make sure you connect the wires round the right way otherwise it will push cold air away from the rad ( its what i did first time i fitted it and i could not work out why it wasnt keeping the engine cool)

If the budget allows, look for ones made by Pacet,Kenlowe or Spal, before opting for one of the cheap non branded ones.

I've got a spal on the m3, it's smaller, lighter and quieter than the standard unit, and cools quicker.
cheers,

I use an adjustable fan controller to switch mine on.
It came pre wired with a relay, all I had to do was mount the relay, hook it up to the battery and the fan

I was looking at the E36 ones and saw this today

im wondering how i'd mount that in such a small space though which is whats pushing me more towards a unit like this:-

The cowling only needs the bottom cutting off to get it to fit in the hole.
