Well done though mate, hope you enjoy your first drive, they are awesome cars.

No i'll get my workshops to sort them! we started the merc yesterday and one of the M3's for the first time in 20yrs but the other M3 needs a fuel pump. so thats first job monday morning :D

I'm gonna ask. I understand if you don't want to answer though

Lets estimate you have several hundred grands worth of cars. Don't you just long for a Veyron or a Zonda or McLaren F1 instead? Must be easier to keep 1 "hypercar" than X number of cars in secure storage and keep on top of anything they need etc

The Merc's nice though. 8)
dano0 wrote: im sure the fuel pump will be under warranty with that mileage
Yeah, I doubt that somehow! I also doubt that he will baulk at £50 (or whatever) for a new pump

The W201 is just stunning, Although the Evolutions are a hell of a lot different, I always thought the 2.3/16 and 2.5/16's were better looking cars.

The E30's are equally jaw dropping.

I know this is a little strange, but you obviously are a very succesful person, so what do you actually do for a living?

also i think with that collection you could open your own museum

or do you work for carlsberg because if carlsberg did car museums it would be some where close to what you have

Sorry but that is one mighty mighty mighty shame.
I know people have their own opinions and everything but having those cars tucked up not used properly is a massive shame in my eyes. Cars are built to be used and imo that's how it should be.

each to their own as they say and a nice collection of metal you have there :)

I think its a shame, but sometimes when a car is 20+ years old, and is delivery milage AND a desirable classic, its a shame to potentially ruin the rarity and collectability of it by driving the thing.

If I had one with <10k, I'd basically store it. Above that, drive it once in a while. A high milage one would be used frequently.

I agree cars are built to be driven, but if you design a car and in 20/30 years they're really desirable, you'd like to know that some people are keeping them for others to see and appreciate for many years to come.

I know of people who dont drive their M3's, even though they're shitebuckets!

It is a shame, but then, these aren't normal cars.. So sadly, they will never be treated as such

I think there are many people envious of your collection. Not that I am, or anything
He joked about selling more BMWs than Trainer BMW in Swansea as they didn't return his call. My guess he's in the car business, may have a marque branded franchise dealership or garage in the Swansea area which is known to Trainer BMW. That's why he's having his own workshop work on the cars.

EDIT: According to RSOC he has a showroom in Swansea...
I assumed he might be in the business, thats most likely the case.

What I want to know is what job does he have that pays well enough to have all these cars...

I know some people might pay to have a good gander round them, but not enough to cover it as a business or personal museum. He's a petrol head with money...

As you say though, he might own a respectable garage, come form a well-off back round or even be a executive in the finance industry, etc. Just working in agarage wouldn't cover the cost of purchasing soo many amazing cars.

Two Sport Evos is hard to comprehend but to be able to get a a 190 Evo and a RS200 is unbelievable.

Fooking delighted for ya.... even though alittle jealous at the same time but at least your happy to share the experience with all of us as I know even getting an M3 thats been to the moon and back will be hard enough for me to get although I'm set on getting a black Sport Evo at some point no matter what happens :D

One thing though...

How come the trip distance is higher than the total mileage on the odometer?

Didn't want to say anything but it also came up on another forum and I thought... feck it, having a second one AND a Merc and RS200, it wouldn't matter too much if one turned out to be clocked... albeit 10 kms :P

Looks like one of the little sons did a Ferris buellers day off stunt on one of them ehh winkeye

The reason why the trip recorded distance is higher than the actuall milage is because the speedo's start at something like 999990 and the first/last ten of miles are put on at the factory during testing so when the car is finished the speedo reads 000000 or there abouts.

Obviously someone at the factory and selling dealer forgot to reset the trip!
