Hi guys still without an E30 at the mo and still wondering where my old one is, reg E286 TCV, white 325i Touring, sold on ebay two years ago to a guy from Wiltshire, who worked for a racing team for classic Aston Martins.
Anyone seen her on the road by chance or know if shes still running, cheers

if you were really desperate to get it back you can contact dvla pay a fee and get the currect owners details :)

however the car could be chaved up and ruined :)

the 2 e30s ive sold have been messed about with and fooked up and non of the little niggles that are easy to fix had been looked at, i know this as both came back on ebay, one had been on time and time again. one is now crushed, the other looks to be the same according to dvla

This rings a bell to me.
He was doing an engine conversion about a year ago. His dad had a farm and he lived miles away. Think it was a big 6 going in? He couldn't get up very often.
Can't remeber much more than that.
Anyone else remember the thread? :D

No, you cant :(

My GF tried to get my old motorbike back for me, but the DVLA bod said there was nothing he could do - they cant give out the info. They wrote back to her explaining and returned the fee.

Heres what it says on the gov site - "You can only get the name and address of the registered keeper of another vehicle if you can demonstrate ”˜reasonable cause’ for needing the information. The DVLA must consider the reasons why you need the information and how it will be used before it is given to you."

Basically, wanting to buy the vehicle back isnt 'reasonable cause'.

seems thats another thing they change their mind on depending on the day of the week.

a mate of my dads got all of the previous owners details from the DVLA, the reason? sad bugger wanted it for the cars history.

you can pay me £50 and ill give him a ring if you want, infact ill see him tomorrow night when i get home.

it is indeed still running, but tbh you probably wont want it back, we started digging about and found that it has had quite a heavy shunt at some point, as the rh chassis leg right back to the middle of the drivers door has been messed with, and theres some terminal rot creeping about.

if it sold on ebay for about £300 and went to a guy in wiltshire that works for AMR, then were talking about the same car.

HairyScreech thats the one mate, wow how the hell do you know all that, it was the previuos owner to me that cut all the holes etc, the bloody alarm was a liabilty, ran abit rough on tick over went through everything trying to get the tickover smooth (airleaks maf etc etc) only when I put it upfor sale (due to ex wife seeing me off for more money) did the previous previous Ie 2 before me, owner send me piccys of what it was ike when he had it and it was near enough concorse condition, he was heart broken to see what state it was in when i first got it, really didnt need much doing to it but cash was at an all time low at that time so she had to go, oh and the rough tickover, it had a race cam fitted when it came on song it was like a train really smooth with sooooo much power lovely motor.

If youre the registered keeper you can get the details, but if youre just trying to trace a vehicle previously owned by you, it seems not.

More info please :D

Ive got the letter from the DVLA (along with the returned £5 fee they wanted) explaining they cannot give out the info. Id really like my old motorbike back, so if you know how...... :D

Cheers
