What are the prices of getting a 'new ' cabbie roof in the uk? And how much is it to get one fixed up? I sometimes see cabbies and the roofs seem stretched or sink in the wrong places...

And the roof, I hear you can get them in auto, that expensive?

And lastly, anyone got a cheap roof in good nick knocking about just so I know some prices of what people want on the zone. Nothing flambiant like bright blue or lime green...

Should get a decent hood and frame for £350 if you look about - search parts - one for sale just now - as long as the stitching and back window is clear, you can invest 20-30 in renovo and restore the appearance of the finish on the hood.

Well I should be getting a cabbie on saturday morning, I was told the roof is a bit shabby, but not sure what it looks like until it turns up... I will get some pics up and see what you people think because if I could just refurb this one, would be well cheaper.

Hoods are the same as a lot of other bits that can be bought as 'pattern' parts, you get what you pay for!
S/H seem to go from around the £350 mark, new one's as already posted, but do remember that you get what you pay for,the better the quality, the better the fit and appearance.
If your cabbie is to be used all year,if the hood is watertight,it may be an idea to invest in a hardtop for the winter months,on the basis that in the summer the hood will be down for (hopefully)most of the time!

Hopefully the one on it isn't too bad,. I'm getting it at a bargain 400quid, but he owes me 80 quid already so... 320 quid... :D I will get some pics for you once it turns up... You manage to see if that other wing is any good? I might send my mate over to pick them up as they are for him anyway...

@ Daimlerman - I think the hardtop idea is a good one if my roof turns out to be poop. They look very slick too.

Sorry about the double post!

It was my step dad who got one.

Came from america for around £180 and was fitted by a small triumph specialist who restored triumphs (Willow triumph, Darlington), and i would fully reccomend him, he wasnt botherd about us supplying the hood and the fact it was an e30, i will certainly be taking my 325i cabby there to get it done. We also tried another classic car specialist in Darlington, Simon Robinsons, What a bunch of prats they were,

Cost him £200 for it fitted, but that was providing it didnt need new seals etc which is didnt.

the quality is excellent too, as good as the bmw one that was removed (apart from holes and the fact it had gone porus)

So... i'm selling a roof myself which is in very good condition, no rips, no leaks, good seals, frequently waterproofed, about three years old - I have it up for £200 which someone has accepted - am I underpricing it?
