Hi I've been offered a cheap 325i sport, but it needs a bit of welding repair under the fuse box, and where the loom goes through the bulkhead.
Is there joining plugs under the dash, or is the loom in one lot, and therefore a pain to remove?
Cheers

I took out a loom yesterday for the same reason! Unfortunately it's one piece and you have to feed from the rear into the engine bay through the bulkhead. It all has to be disconnected, starting with the rear lights and working forward. Sorry!

oh Bugger! I had a feeling that would be the case!
Why they don't put plugs in baffles me!
Have you taken the dash out as well to make it easier, and in case it goes up?
Cheers

Dash removal is remarkably simple on an E30!
If you cut a few cable ties around the glovebox area, you can normally release enough loom to get the fusebox up enough to just about work under it.

Cheers, I noticed on another thread, somone saying it takes just over an hour, so I think if I buy it, i'll just wip it out, then I can make a decent job of the bulhead/inner wing repair, without woring about the dash going up in flames!

I admire your bravery! Rot here, roof rot or severe rear wheel arch rot, and off to the crusher they go, as far as I'm concerned!

Apart from the rot there, I can only find the usual bottom of the front end of the sill, the rest of the car is solid as a rock, so shouldn't proove to hard to sort out, though you never know!
