I dont mind sorting postage for the bumpers.

I can store stuff in my garage for people.

Colin do you think we can 'reserve' the car so noone gets there 1st, we could pay in advance or a deposit.

Im taking the spoiler and swapping with Alec(HibsFan) cause he wants a white oone.

Very kind of you Peter.

I'm planning to reserve the car 1st thing tomorrow bud. We've enough interest now for it to go ahead. It may be that we'll have to strip it sooner as opposed to later but I'm confident we've enough of us round here to make it happen.

It's looking likely we'll have to go for Sat 30th. Tedswagon, Sanchez and I are all free, hopefully Jason is also....?

When I buy the car, I have to tell them if I want the engine and gearbox so I need a definite on the engine. Also I need the full names of those who will be in the stripping team, and you need to provide ID on the day.

Personally I'd have it, it's only done 57K miles ! It'll be about £100 for the engine, because there's a £40+ Vat fee to remove it, which isn't optional.

Guys i done this before at u-pull-it with the help of 2 mates.
I paid the extra for the engine pull and tbh if you want the engine ask if you can be there to disconnect everything before they pull it out as they just cut everything and if they forgot to disconnect anything i think they just keep pulling until it break/snaps.

Its a good day out imo just hope yous get better weather that we did as it was pissing down.

As said before you are only allowed to use hand tools ,no cutting equipment at all.
Basically if you cant unbolt it to remove it you cant take it.

btw we stripped the car to a shell in the allowed time easy and the procceds fulled a vivaro and a transit so you may need two vans.

Cheers Jake. Just spoke to Stirling Gordon, he's going to give us a 3 ton trailer and bring his landcruiser so I think we're good for transport and storage (and some good advice).

I'm going to ask that we get the chance to disconnect the engine before the day so it'll come out clean. - just heard a horror story about them cutting through the loom with snips to get an engine out easy.

Im sure like others I can drive another car/van insured(3rd party) with permision of the owner.

30th it is then.

Engine wise its gona be a M42 for M42 swap into the new car, so not too bad if its a little butchered but if the wiring loom is done properly that a big help.

Make sure you bring camera for the before and after shots!!!!!!!

I suggest people bring their own tools and take of their wanted bits first so no damage is done.

What eva is left can be taken afterwards.

@Alec you can store the new M42 in my garage if you need, ill take the bumpers as well.

Someone has PM'ed me for the wheels as well.

Please update list if there is something you need, no arguments if its on your list you have 1st refusal of part.

1) Topblag - electric aerial, front seatbelts mechanisms, warning triangle, front wings, rear opening windows. doors.

2) Sanchez(Peter Duck) - Bumpers(RicoSuave), Lip Spoiler and Headlights, wheels(minus caps!!!!!) valance.

3) e21 Jason - LSD, Carpet, fuel tank, fuel lines, filler neck, Glovebox, Stereo Facia

4) HibsFans1875- engine and gearbox, Parcel Shelf, passenger Gutter Trim

5) Tedswagon - interior, speedo, steering wheel, center cap badges, central locking relay, wing mirrors, boot & spoiler, suspension and bits! Better take a van me thinks

6)Ricey46- front and rear screen

7) EVIR - dash

With the exception of Alec(HibsFan1875) the list above is the list of attended strippers. If you cant make it I will take for you and leave in my garage in Edinburgh if you want.

As Colin has asked for either add your full name to list above or PM him.

Although the website told me the payment had failed (three times with two cards), the bank just confirmed that the payments did go through and the car is no longer on the website so failing a f*ck up somewhere, the car is now secured. I'll call them first thing tomorrow to confirm.

I'll be in touch to work out prices but all those who wanted parts will get them as per the list above, and they'll be cheap as chips.

You never know what you'll find in a motor when you peel back it's covers.

I've seen some interesting finds over the years. Stirling Gordon found a Garmin Sat Nav in a motor a wee while back.
