I've a bonnet, front panel, both wings, front doors. front and rear bumpers and sunroof panel in stock in this colour, and a selection of touring shells, so there might be four, one day!
Here's one of them...

Now that is interesting, it seems the 2.8 M30 option was a rare thing in any form, was this because the bang to buck ratio was stronger for the 3.5 M30 as the conversions nearly cost the same and involved a similar amount of work? It would be nice to know if there is any more of my car knocking about too but as we know getting information from Hartge is like platting piss...bss325i wrote:We already have the rarest!bss325i wrote:The rarest official BMW E30 i can think of is the RHD Alpina B6 2.8, only 1 ever made!

Back in 1985 the 2.7 M20 didn't exist and the top model E30 off the production line was a 2.3 m20. Hartge's lineup at the time was the H23, H26, H28 & H35. I wonder what the differences in cost was between the models.

All i know is that my car was manufactured and converted in jan '85 as this fell within Hartge's prefacelift range that was available from circa '82/83. IIRC when the H27 was introduced in '86, Hartge's facelift range consisted of the H26, H27, H27sp, H35 & the H35-24 when the M3 was introduced. The H23 was phased out with the introduction of the standard 2.5 M20 by BMW and the H28 was phased out by the H27 as they both achieved the same 210bhp. I'm not too clued up on Alpina though but both companies conversions were pretty much very similar.

I freely admit, that is a nice colour. If anyone is interested, few more pics of a neon violet touring & its interior:

I'm not sure if i should love or hate it. If the Barry bits were removed i i.e white dials, steering wheel, wheels, phone dock etc i think it would be quite nice. Certainly is different...
