Hi all, my M20B23 based Hartge H23 is idling too low - around 350rpm when warm. Interestingly, it doesnt stall, but feels rough at that level.

I have searched here and can only find info on idle adjustment for motronic controlled m20's, not the L-jetronic like on mine.

General searches on the net suggest that the L-jetronic idle speed is adjusted by a screw on the throttle (ie different to the motronic), but I am not sure what I am looking for.

Can anyone post a pic of the idle adjustment screw for an L-jetronic m20?

Thanks
David

do you have the aux air slide on top of the rocker box in front of the intake ?

if yes then on the end closest to the bulkhead there is provision to open the bleed up/down, nothing more required than a wide flat bladed srewdriver.

post a pic if unsure dude

No, haven't started it today. Too hot and doing other things (37 degrees celsius here today).

Tomorrow will be cooler so will take it for a drive then and tweak it once fully warmed up.

Thanks for the help!

All tweaked now! I must admit, I was surprised at how many turns of the screw were needed to get a small increase in the idle speed.

Thanks for the help Ant.
