G'day, Can someone supply me a detailed list of all the parts required to retrofit central locking to my '83 chromie.
The car has manual locking at present

Does the door wiring loom for central locking include power window wiring? Thinking of doing this upgrade at same time?

not just the doors, but boot, petrol cap too, adding all the wiring loom/control unit/door microswitches, actuators (which DIY means potential problems down the line)...IMO a lot of work and you still need to turn the key to open it!!
plus wind down windows and "lean accross" central locking are sooooo eighties...proper old school!!

A work in progress so thanks for the thoughts - I am grappling with "up speccing" the car but don't want to create headaches. The cruise, OBC, sports seats, tech1 wheel I have done were easy - no liekyl problems there.mrLEE30 wrote:not just the doors, but boot, petrol cap too, adding all the wiring loom/control unit/door microswitches, actuators (which DIY means potential problems down the line)...IMO a lot of work and you still need to turn the key to open it!!
