I can't compete with that - my testing machines cost me thousands.

You're welcome to purchase service parts from me, though you'll need to use a powerful tank because a small jewelry/false teeth cleaner isn't going to shift 20 year old carbon deposits from injectors.

Note to mods: I'm happy to offer a special service to E30zone members (as previously mentioned ITT) - just send me an email from my site.

Best be safe, Baz. You are in fact organizing the purchase of something: a service at a discount. If you or the guys are arranging a discounted service for zone members just drop one of the Group Buy Mods a line. I can't see an issue with it being accepted but best to just make sure.

d6dph, BadDave and Gortour are the guys to speak with.

Why do I get the feeling that Mr. Injectortune is going to get quite a bit of business from our humble abode? :D

Yes, new o-rings, internal filters and pintle caps (the bit at the fuelling end) along with a before/after test report for each injector and insured return postage.

I'm always grateful for new business and always happy to advice with fuelling/tuning issues where I can. I've put a fair bit of info about the process on my site though you lot appear to be quite clued up about the process works - particularly the need to restore performance to how the manufacturer intended it to be.

To reiterate, so long as you are an E30zone member and you are having a set of injectors from an E30 model serviced the price will remain at £10 per injector with a flat rate of £6 postage (Special Delivery - insured to £500).

The only other thing I can offer your community is a link from my 'links' page on my site.

James :) .

Discount for zoners is always appreciated, my new found friend. I just have a couple of questions.
1) Do "we" need to arrange these to be sent in batches, or can members send you their injectors with a reference to this place to get the reduced rate you're offering?
2) RE pintle caps. My understanding is that the e30's use pintle caps with two spray ports, and that later BMW's use caps with four spray ports. As the four port caps do the job better than those with two, are they interchangeable? ie four port caps on injectors that originally came with two?

Either way you're getting my business, so thanks in advance.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

To answer your questions.

1. You do not need to arrange a group buy - you are welcome to send them individually though if you do live near a fellow E30zone member and are able to send two or more sets at once the return postage will remain fixed at £6.

2. The pintle caps to which I refer are the plastic parts which locate the injectors into the cylinder head/inlet manifold of your engine. BMW ones are quite distinct from other types.

The 2 hole/4 hole spray pattern is unique to the injector and cannot be practically interchanged. I counted 12 holes on the latest set of Subaru injectors which I serviced. The holes exist to provide a finer fuel mist which burns both faster and more efficiently - reducing emissions and improving MPG when the engine is operated in an economical way. There is a small improvement in performance at both wide open throttle and high revs.

The principle problem with having lots of very small holes in injectors is that the spray pattern distorts with much less use - requiring regular service to restore to 'as new' operating condition. The Subaru I referred to earlier is a good example of this - 26,000 miles of use and unable to pass an MoT emissions test without having the injectors serviced. To make matters worse for the owner the MoT garage had diagnosed a faulty catalyst which was replaced at a substantial cost to the owner.

3. I live and work in Devizes, Wiltshire. Simply message me from my site (injectortune.co.uk or direct at sales@injectortune.co.uk) for postage and (PayPal) payment details. Turnaround is presently 2-3 working days from receipt.

Feel free to ask as many questions as needed - I am happy to contribute my knowledge to E30zone and comply with the requests of moderators. All I ask for in return is a fair appraisal of your experience of my service so I can add your comments to the 'Customer Feedback' section of my site.

Sorry if I got a bit technical! - In layman's terms:

Yes, there is an improvement in performance to be had from fitting the newer 4-hole injectors.

Fitting 4-hole injectors will give a fair improvement to MPG when the engine is driven in an economical way.

Fitting 4-hole injectors will give a small improvement to acceleration and top speed when the engine is worked hard.

Unless I spotted a cheap set of newer injectors on eBay or at a scrapyard I would personally stick with what I had.

Hi Injectortune,

Firstly welcome to the forum, I hope it's a good resource and provides plenty of business.

We do like to run quite a strict plan of people trading on here, We are happy to see traders using the forum but would like to see it being mutually beneficial. If you have a quick look in the merchandise section at the top of the screen you will see our charges.

If you feel that you will not do enough business to warrant the full trader fees then contact one of the team and we could sort something out.
For now I think a one off group buy would be a better way to conduct these sales, Let it run for two weeks to give you time to decide if you wish to take up trader status. After which it will be removed.

Thanks
Dave

Superb Thanks James :D

Feel free to pop a thread in the traders section outlining the services you can offer. I'm happy to sticky it at the top of that section too as it will be a constant thing rather than changing stocks like a breakers.

If I can help at all, Drop me a PM.

Cheers

Well mate, as you've thrown down the gauntlet so to speak, allow me to pick your brain further. Sorry to sound like a dog with a bone RE these later 4 port injectors, but I'm not as clued up as some of the others in here.
As you've already said that the later pintle caps are not interchangeable, would I be able to fit injectors from a later car that already have them without any modification?
Initially I'd assume some type of remap would be needed, but thinking about it logically the engines fuel demands wouldn't have changed it would simply mean that (as long as the newer injectors actually phsically fitted) they'd simply be atomising the fuel more effectively.
Help me obi-wan, you're my only hope.

So long as:

The injectors have roughly the same electrical resistance*
The injectors have the same maximum flow rate**
The injectors have the same spray pattern***
The injectors have the same physical dimensions****

Then fitting them will be a straight swap with no remap necessary. The improvements in performance are a result of better engine efficiency, with the Motronic system monitoring, calculating and adjusting as necessary.

*2-8 ohms (low impedance) or 11-17 ohms (high impedance)

**You can find this out by putting the Bosch part number (0280150xxx) into Google - though take results with a pinch of salt and make sure the pressures that the figues were taken at were the same. The only flow rate value I trust is what I can see in the test tubes on my machines.

***Most injectors fitted to multi-valve engines have a split spray pattern in the shape of a V. The angle that the V sprays at can vary from 15 to about 40 degrees in order to inject fuel as close to the base of the inlet valves as possible. That said, most BMW injectors will spray at about 30 degrees.

****This should not be an issue for Bosch injectors fitted to BMW engines with the 0280150xxx part number.

The general guidence on the Five-O Motorsport website is correct.

You'll find once they've been cleaned they make a nice crisp clicking noise that sounds just like the tappets.
Anyone know of a way to shut them up ?

Not always - sometimes cleaning can quieten noisey injectors.

But no, there is no way that I am aware of to quieten them.

Not that I'm a sour grape....

...but you're welcome to have them tested FoC on my machine 'just to make sure'.

There is another person who offered cleaning on eBay but wouldn't give users a video of their injectors being tested (as important as cleaning!). Trading Standards had a word with him and he simply sells 'cleaned injectors' now.

Thanks for that James

They might turn up tomorrow now, so as far as the 24 hour service goes there crap on that part.
