Hi guys,
The driver side lock will turn to the deadlock position and deadlock the passenger door but the driver door could still be open from the inside. What is the problem ? I removed the door card but i can make out what is wrong with the driver side lock.
Thanks
Driver side lock will not deadlock

There is no deadlock motor in the driver's door!
Dead locking on the driver's door is purely mechanical. The problem is down to wear and tear and general lack of maintenance and lubrication, probably centred around the L shaped alloy piece on the back of the lock barrel.

Interesting. Is this a feature of non-german cars?
The deadlock in a german E30 will be triggered by the microswitch in the drivers door only. All doors are deadlocked and the drivers door can only be opened with the key. If the electric fails, with key turned further to the left as a normal opening. If you pull off the microswitch in the drivers door, the system will still work, but the deadlock can't be activated any more.
Could you tell me more?

I think you'll find it's all markets. If the driver's door was dead locked by a motor, then you wouldn't be able to open it with the key in the event of failed electrics.
Maybe I get you wrong. Deadlock means that, was is refered in the manual as "anti-theft"? Is this correct?
The deadlock works always with the motors of the central locking. In a case of fail of the electrics, the drivers door can be unlocked by pulling the key a step further to the left.
