To me, oil will destroy the rubber rather than preserve it. Plus itwill go all streaky etc when it rains.

All i can say to that is that it hasn't gone streaky after several weeks, and it has rained here, and it's been washed using car shampoo. Also, it doesn't seem to have destroyed it either...

What makes you think that it will destroy the spoiler?

I tried the AG green stuff, but i found that in a few weeks the effect had gone, which is why i tried oil...

Put the wrong oil on rubber and it will swell and destroy itself. I wouldn't risk it anyway, in the longer term.

AG Bumper Care does need doing every so often, just like most finishing products, depending on their exposure to rain etc.

heat it up with a heat gun to bring all the moisture back to the surface, get it as hot as you can without melting it, then apply a black trim restorer paste and it will look look fresh again, Mk1 and 2 golf bumpers this works for and its a simular problem when they go grey

the material dries up from all its oils, as its like a sponge

if thes doesent work wat about some black paint?

You wont be able to respray it, I asked the same question to my bodyshop chap when I had my bumpers resprayed - he looked like this face-->" " LOL

Also, if you remove it I think you will be left with holes in your bootlid as mine is bolted on with plastic nut thingys underneath (that is, if we are talking about the same thing - the spoiler in your sig pic right?)

Marmite is also good, but be careful. Some spoilers just hate it.

You should get away with spraying it.. clean it with the right chemical ..another chemical to promote paint adhesion. Then lots of coats. BMW managed it

TBH you could get a decent original oem in any colour posted to you for 10-15 squids..

If you do get a replacement, try peanut butter & marmite on the old one winkeye
