I picked up a scrap 1988 320i Baur today, just wonderd what the TC in front of the Baur on the doors mean. Thanks

I read somewhere but can't think were, it stands for 'top cabriolet' Not sure if its right though!

I think there is numbers to go with them and the E30 is TC3?

Sad thread for me. In the 70's and half way through the '80s these Baurs were the most desirable BMW on the road for me. The full cabriolet, as the convertible was known, consigned the Baurs to just wannabe cabs. And there they have stayed despite 20 years of vintage!

There is only a couple of TC3's, but there is quite a few TC4's in Germany!
