After spending a bit of time using the serch function i cant seem to find anthing, maybe i am looking for the wrong things!
I was wondering what is the best way to remove a m20b20 engine as i dont really want to make silly little mistakes that take more time to sort back out.
Cheers Ian

Just done this,this weekend!
Snag with dropping the engine out of the bottom is that the entire front suspension has to be removed as well, leaves you with a shell that has no wheels at the front so is difficult to move.
I pull the radiator out, unplug the engine harness at C101 on the bulkhead, unbolt the ECU from under the dash and feed it's plug back into the engine bay,dis-connect the exhaust, heatshields and propshaft from the underside, remove the lower front undertray, drop the front of the car back onto it's wheels, leaving the rear at least 9'' in the air, unbolt the engine/gearbox mounts and hoik it out through the top.
Engine sling points can be either the engine mount arms(be careful of the H/T lead casing
)or better still, the lift point bolted to the front of the camcover and the eye cast into the block just above the starter.
Before lifting, make sure that everything is disconnected, clutch slave is a favourite to forget, battery leads, are another...unplugging the reverse light switch under the gaiter, rear mount for the gearlever bracket...
You need an engine crane that is capable of lifting at least a tonne, the engine /'box only weighs a quarter of that but a crane is rated at it's lift point nearest to it's mast, you need to reach over the engine bay so are lifting well away from the mast.Nice big wheels make manouvering much easier as well.
If you have not removed an engine before, allow a full day so you can work methodicaly and carefully. An extra pair of hands helps as well.
Enjoy!
