Rear wheel bearing help pleeeease :(

Ok me and a friend have my car on axle stands round his...
We decided we would do the rear wheel bearing..
So we took all the hub apart blah de blah and we smashed the inner race out and removed the bearings....
BUT... the outer sleeve is being a f****r
we has used grinding discs that we have butchered it with and smashed peices off it with a screwdriver and chisel....
But it refuses to lose the fight..
Is it a good idea to heat it up with a blow torch until it glows then try and shatter it or is that not possible? please help
A press is out of the question as i need the car for monday morning

Hi i did mine a few weeks ago and did use some heat on the bearing it came out ok with a little force,
but i would not get it to hot as it could warp the hub or arm

the problem is i cant whack it from behind as there is a lip to stop it popping straight through...
How did you overcome this and where did you bash it?
My inner hub looks a little dubious now... im gonna have to replace it at some pint now

What is left in the trailing arm? Is it just the outer race of the bearing or the full bearing still there?

yeh just the out race... well some of it... smashed a lot of it out.... still need to get the new one in but to be honest it will be childs play compared to this... might have a welder tomorrow ill have to see but thanks for the info....
