I work for centrax gas turbines limited ( http://www.centrax.eu.com/en/ ). Can't say i've really heard of Bowman Power though. I'm about to go into my third year of my apprenticeship, but i would still like to the more domestical side for some what i call "proper electricans qualifications" like 17th edition and that. I've litterally just finished my NC in electrical engineering - over the moon with a double distinctionE30Mark wrote:Which company? I worked for Bowman Power for a while heading up there electrical packaging dept, our primary business was gas turbine CHP's. Left there and re-trained as an electrician, have now run my own business for the last 6 years. Apart from the sparky work I also fit kitchens / bathrooms etc.Cook318IS wrote:Im an electrical engineering apprentice. Started my working career as a mechanical designer in mainly defence & communication systems, best part time job i have had was working in a hospital, clearing up the burns & operating theatres. Don't know why i enjoyed that job so much, might of been all the young ladies![]()

You're playing with the big boys! Bowmans systems ( www.bowmanpower.co.uk ) are measured in kW unlike your MW beasties!Cook318IS wrote: I work for centrax gas turbines limited ( http://www.centrax.eu.com/en/ ). Congrats on the Double D. Domestic electrics can be a proper ball ache, stick to commercial / industrial installations if you can.

Yup. Mine started out as a hobby that people wanted to pay me for 8 or 9 years ago. Like any job, some times it can get stressful (deadlines tighter than a nun on a sunday, getting code working in Internet Exploder, etc) but all in all, very happyE30BeemerLad wrote:How many people genuinely enjoy their job?

Fi, you have said once before that you arent my sister under a psuedonym..... now I have to ask.... are you sure. Your sense of humour is the same as hers, you do the same work......beemerbird wrote:I install and maintain pro lighting and sound systems.
Just spent the last three days at Wembley Stadium swapping out some speakers in advance of the Oasis gigs (first night tonight) which involved lowered massive speaker clusters 50m into the seating area and replacing broken speaker drivers.
On and off to be honest.E30BeemerLad wrote:How many people genuinely enjoy their job?
