im after bushes for the front on the car, the rear ones have already been changed.
ok so your after the front ARB bushes and the wishbone bushes, you'll need to find out what size ARB you have on the car - you could find out by going to realoem.com but I would go out and put a adjustable spanner on it just to be certain, it'll either be 18mm or 20mm. For the wishbone bushes I'd go for the m3 eccentric variety to give added caster and self centering.
Not sure where the best place to get them would be though sorry, haven't brought poly before.

Wishbone/lower arm bushes then...
The eccentric ones are what you want, they move the wheel forwards in the arch and increase the castor angle. What you will feel is more "feel" through the steering and a sharper turn-in.
Poly bushes apparently transfer a lot more vibration to the chassis than the BMW rubber eccentric bushes, I fitted the BMW ones which are virtually solid rubber and only about £20 the pair, they also have a 2 year warranty and will last way beyond that

i was thinking of going for the bmw one's but people are always on about poly ones. but someone did say that you feel every vibration on the steering wheel with the poly ones
so u think i should go for the bmw one's?
and will the eccentric ones fit straight on?
mine is a H reg 325i

plus its on a 60mm drop and i've got 17's on it, so the wheel wont touch the arch would it...
The M3 eccentric TCA bushes won't make enough difference to cause any 'rubbage' that isn't there already.marley_uk1 wrote:plus its on a 60mm drop and i've got 17's on it, so the wheel wont touch the arch would it...
I would definitely go for genuine BMW ones too by the way.

thanks for the advice guy's, sorry to sound like a dumbo but when i order my front bushes do i order all m3 one's!!!
The only ones that are M3 specific are the ones that go on the end of the TCA (also known as front wishbone). This is the part number I believe - 31129061222
Taken from here... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=31&fg=05
So order a pair of the above and a pair of ARB (Anti Roll Bar) bushes. You will need to measure the thickness of these as they vary. Best way as mentioned above is to use an adjustable spanner and then measure the gap on that.
Hope that helps.

Do NOT order a pair of the above - you will end up with four bushes!!aj_mckay wrote:This is the part number I believe - 31129061222

One of 31129061222 consists of two bushes. They are sold as a pair!

That will be one of the two sorts listed for the E36 M3, depending on age.
Can't remember which is which though!

When I ordered mine from the local dealer they told me that the early E30 M3 had concentric bushes (hole in the middle) and that the eccentric bushes were developed later for the touring cars.
How reliable Stratstones parts guy is I dunno but he gets me the right bits (usually) and gives discount now.

Pre '87 M3's had a different part number for the bushes, but the ETK cross reference for that part number (31129058815) seems to say that these are ordinary E30 bushes, as used on the more lowly models.
