Best suspension set up for road use...?

Im upgrading my suspension and there are a couple of set-ups I`m aware of:

1. - Koni top adjustable shocks
- H&R/Eibach anti-roll bars
- Eibach 35mm springs

2. - Bilstein shocks B6/B8
- Bilstein springs 45mm
- H&R/Eibach anti-roll bars

3. - H&R cup kit
- H&R/Eibach anti-roll bars

4. - Spax sport kit
- H&R/Eibach anti-roll bars

I would also like to add M3 negative camber top-mounts, M3 offset rear wishbone bushes and strut braces front and rear and replace any worn bushes.

I was hoping to get advice on which set up to go with or if there are better out there please feel free to let me know.

What kind of Bilsteins are you running?

I use Eibach 35mm springs
Bilstein Shocks (I can't remember what number, but they're the right length for the springs)
Eibach roll bars

I live in the country and wanted something really chuckable for back lanes, but also able to ride over poor surfaces and potholes. We don't have speedbumps out here, but I have no problem with them in Tescos I'm very happy with the results.

I am running H&R springs, B6 front shocks, e36 328i b4 rear shocks, H&R arb's and a front brace. Can't fault it at all.. soft enough for north wales' finest pot holes and hard enough for track days out

The ride comfort is near on identical. The only difference is under hard use as due the H&R's being progressively wound and eibachs having thicker coils, the feel slightly different when being loaded up.

I have this same set-up on mine - save for the ARB's.

It's great for fast road use and relatively compliant given the drop.
A decent set of ARB's and poly bushes will toughen everything else up a treat.

How do I tell what Bilstein dampers my car came with? What's the difference between B6 and B8 anyway?

B8's and B6's are pretty much the same I think. But the B8's are designed to deal with a bigger suspension drop. e.g. -60mm instead of -30mm

I have a quick question too, there are 2 sets of Eibach springs listed, one for a a car with 825kg's of load on the front, one for a car with 875kg's +

Which ones do I need for my 325i Sport ?

Eibach are just M3 springs but shorter..

Best suspension for road use, depends entirely on what your road use is..

Ive got H&R springs and B8's, they are very good

exactly what i have, bilstein b6/b8 and the spax springs from the adjustable psx kit. it does the job.
best is entirely subjective though.

Yep, B6s are the same as B8s. Both are heavy-duty inverted shocks but the B8s are designed for shorter springs to avoid the shock being under compression all the time resulting excessive rebound every time you come out of dip or over a crest etc.

The 825 and 875 doesn't refer to 4 cyl. and 6 cyl. does it?

Call me paranoid but it looks like Evolve and the Zone broke up, I've looked at GSF and ECP, maybe my Google-fu is weak? Can't seem to find a place that sells Bilstein B6 absorbers and/or suspension kits.

they are not the same!

the B6 is a good 2 inches shorter in length with a smaller damper rod. They work better with a 60mm drop rather than the B8's

eibachs won't fail to disappoint in the slightest. there's a picture of them next to the word plush in the collins dictionary, and for fast road applications, they're so refined you can almost taste them.

horses for courses but you won't go wrong with either eibach or H&R. both are quality. Me i'd probably go with eibachs on a cab aswell
