just spoken to him... apparently anyone car turn up, you dont have to be a club member!
I don't think that will encourage people to come down here given the history between some people....e30bmlover wrote:just spoken to him... apparently anyone car turn up, you dont have to be a club member!

i have been a regular at the old ford meets at ace and arrive in a v8 mk111 cortina.
i might make the German night this summer if they are anything like the old Ford one.
the pic shows rwd righteousness in both makes
I have been to both Ford and BMW days at Ace and there is no comparison - the busier day is the Ford day by miles.
I have been up at ace when there were hardly any zone cars there once - approx 7 in total and was a joke.

If it were possible on the 9th May, all the southern and London types could maybe drive along the North Circular on the way there.....

Dave. Sounds like a good plan then. Anychance you could have a chat with the triple B boys and see if they're willing.
If they could get a BBQ going and charge a little bit to make a profit, maybe we could donate the profit on the food as well?
So that would be a raffle of e30 goods, a bbq and some buckets. I reckon it'd make a few bob.
How does that sit with everyone? Dave, if you and the boys need a hand then shout. Double busy at work at the mo but i may be able to help in small doses.

Don't clash with the clubs (our
) Ace day. Lets push it out a bit, give people a chance to get their names in the frame. Thats if Big Bavarian Boobies are up for this.

dave (d6dph) where about's near colchester is BBB based?
having read this thread from start to fininsh it wouldn't be that hard for me to get to i mean i came all the way from skeg to the ace just before new years eve to get a new head from trev (b7) so colchester ain't gonna be that much for me.
so come on let's have our own day down at BBB as i'm sure they'd sell a few bit's during the day.
also it would be good if they had a bbq then as i have been meaning to go to one of them but never had the chance lol.

I vote we all just turn up mobhanded WITHOUT telling them. Mind you, I am annoying like that.I need to chat to BBB about this before we get too excited!
I also vote we advertise the venue as this, probably get people turn up when they say they will.Big Bavarian Boobies

Ah lads, I'm touched your all still willing to put something together for Nat even though we didn't get our Ace Cafe Day. I truely am. Thank you.
Obviously the families will attend from both mine and Nat's side. In terms of dates, July 27th was a date I was looking at doing something but just haven't got the time to organise on my own now. (So am concentrating on next years Valentines Ball). The 27th would have been our 6th wedding anniversary and so quite a good day to do something.
Dave, I'm more than happy to have a chat with the lads as well, shame I cannot make the bbq this month but maybe I'll give them a call once you've spoken to them. I'll give you a bell tonight.

July the 27th is a monday? Same night as the ACE?
Daryll, the last thing I want to do mate is upset anything (I'm happy evenings) but I was thinking more a day thing. More hours to raise money?
Keep in touch with us on this. Let us arrange it but not without your agreement. If Daves in touch with you that'll help.
Cheers, looking forward to this one.

I'd definitely be up for this, but as B7 says, a day thing. With a bouncy castle that grownups are allowed on ideally
Surely this would also make it more appealling to further - flung zoners? The day thing, I mean - not the bouncy castle....
I appreciate the date has great significance to Daryll, but a monday night may preclude it from many zoners who would like to contribute to the fundraiser

Firstly let's not run before we can walk, I need to speak to BBB to see if they are willing to allow us to use the location. If not then we look for another, It will happen!
Daryll, I'll put all I can into the meet mate, You know I'll do my best.
Fun stuff like a bouncy castle is one thing but it's the cost that will cripple that idea. A rolling road would be good for spectators and give people a chance to see what their cars can do.
We have our resident Ice cream man that we could book, I can pop to one of the local burger vans to see if they would be interested in attending.
I'm sure we could find some music of some description, If we have to use BBBs power then we should make a donation towards the cost of it.
If BBB are not able to hold it there, Then I can speak to Tom at TSC performance about holding a rolling road day there and put on some extra entertainment to make the day more fun.
This could be a very good little meet

Dave - your capable hands are obviously the right ones for this job. Let me know if I can help at all . . . . blagging 'fun things' for cancer research might pull in some nice things for any kids (big or small) attending for not much money?d6dph wrote:Firstly let's not run before we can walk, I need to speak to BBB to see if they are willing to allow us to use the location. It's a good cause we're dealing with ultimately - as well as an uber E30 meet
