Hi all!

I've been a bit slack with the E30 project, and one of the reasons is I have a garage full of bits meaning I can't swing a cat, let alone do anything else!

Just wondered if I could ask what bits I've got are worth selling, and what bits are worth scrapping...

I've basically stripped my E30 320i Auto of all interior / engine / gearbox / panels, so I've just got a shell on wheels. Everything which isn't attached needs shifting, so I want to get a rough idea of what the following bits are worth, if anything at all!

- 2 mint doors

- Full blue cloth interior

- Auto box

- 2 litre engine which has done about 65k steady auto miles

- Mint boot

- Bonnet with a small dent in it

- Mint chrome front bumper

- Chrome rub strips

- Mint dashboard / clocks etc

A few photos:

Thanks a lot in advance, and I hope this isn't too cheeky!

Blue interior on a karminrot car is ick.

Unusual to find such a nice, unmolested example.

Not much. I've got a blue interior I've been trying to get shot of for about 6 months at £80, and that's leather. A cloth set may be less, priced for a quick sale you may only be looking at about £40. Someone will want it though. It's in very nice condition.

I'd say the front bumper if mint and original BMW is worth near on a £100. Perhaps £70 to get shot of it sharpish?

Bloody hell that is similar!! Yours has fogs and a sunroof, but can't see any other differences!!

Getting rid of quite a few bits to make way for lightweight carbon or g/f replacements...

It is a bit of a shame to kill such a nice car, but it's really perfect for what you have planned, which should be excellent once done. It's a conundrum!

Indeed! I do feel a bit guilty, but the end result should be a lot better than a mint standard 320i auto!

Not really.

That minty chromer should be sold as whole to some bufty who would polish it weekly and get damp knickers from the excitement of an original car.

The money raised would still purchase another staight shell. These time warp chromies are few and far between and what with classic car bufties starting to turn their attention to them, even though it's a 320i, tampering with it is akin to investing in Icelandic banks. A great way to f*ck an asset.

At the end of the day it is your car, do whatever you want. I reckon this car deserves better things than to be the victim of some 'Fred in his shed' type engineering massacre.

Nathan you don't normally get all sentimental. 8O

It was only a 320 auto! If you are going to put a lot of power through a car, you need the best shell possible, much moreso than a lame 320!

It did look nice, but it was only ever a £2k? car. Where is the harm. :D

Well it did take me 4 months to find a mint shell without a sunroof, so whatever variant it was it would still be getting the same treatment.

I always knew it would be a love / hate project, mainly hate with the purists, but you can't please everyone!

Too late anyway now, as its already stripped down, and the chopping has begun!

To be fair, when embarking on such an undertaking, you want to be sure it's going to last. So I understand why you'd want a decent shell.
