car is 1988 325i , went for a long run today car was normal, got home and realised forgot to get some smokes on the way home so jumped back in car and it seemed as if the battery is flat but i know for certain it is fine, car tried to start for a second and then slowly died, a strange squelching noise was coming from the o/s speaker when trying to crank it over again
i guess its something to do with the starter but haven't got a clue where to start to be honest, any help appreciated ,cheers

no wont start with jump leads, it was making sort of a mechanical thud noise from the starter motor when trying to start it but after a few tries it seems to have stopped making the thud noise? help

just tried to start it via pins 11 and 14 in the diagnosis port and just getting a click from the starter, could it be starter wiring or starter itself
