Our wheel man wants to come - not the getaway driver - but the lad that does alloy wheel refurbs for some of the concours crew.
He says he can bring some examples of his work and give us a little talk about it.
I told him to come on down.
See you on Friday,
Nick

That's bad - having to bring your own pack-up. We really do need to start thinking of another venue.maw535 wrote:Will be there , but bringing sarnies as food is deadly

I agree, we can discuss suggestions on Friday, seems like you know a few places in that general area A1/M62 corridoor which is probably easier access for most too.

Brian, A64 towards York, think it will then be possibly the 1st or 2nds turnoff towards Sherburn in Elmet. Eventually you need to take a right at a set of traffic lights in a village (damn can't remember the name of it) just after you've gone past a cop shop, then just stay on that road keep going straight. You'll go under a railway bridge and squires is on the left. There is another way in from the M62 I believe but never been that way.twsyorks wrote:Hi, I am Brian Scott (The Wheel Specialist Leeds) can you tell me where the meet is tonight.
Should be there about 7.30 as long as I find it OK.
if u get lost call me opn 07531 815878 and I'll do my best, i'm setting off in a couple of mins

Good meet last night, wheel man brought some very posh rims...biy out of my price bracket...We noticed that Squires have provided some new seats but the beer was flat(I wangled a free half!!)perhaps one or two of the more local zoners can do some research for us to see what else is available to us close to the A1/M62?

We did - four of us stopped of at the 'Darrington Hotel' near Pontefract on the way home.daimlerman wrote:perhaps one or two of the more local zoners can do some research for us to see what else is available to us close to the A1/M62?
It's ideal, and very easy to get to at the foot of the A1 slip road in Darrington village, just south of of the A1-M62 interchange.
Nice and big - comfy seating areas - reasonable food and a massive, underused car park that would do us proud.
Perhaps we should give it a go next time.. here's the code for your satnav WF8 3BL.

Squires is OK,just do not sit down in a decent pair of trousers!! Reckon we should give this place in Darrington a try for the next meet.Jim78 wrote:That sound spot on - went to Squires once and wasn't sure if I wanted to go back but I thought it was just me being snobbish! I'll keep watching for the next meet.
