dont beat around the bush say how it ispacerpete wrote:The reason your car is not selling is that it is £1000 too expensive !£1600 for a 325 auto with no mot or rear inner arches, no matter how shiny it is, is dreaming i am afraid.

Only autos with no mot or arches are worthless. On a positive note, at least it isn't a 4 door !leigh wrote:If i sell at £600 that means most of the e30's are worthless??? I appreciate an m.o.t is worth alot on a 19 year old and it's only an SE AUTO, but £600!!!????
good luck with that although i also suspect you will be keeping it yourself.leigh wrote:Even in this climate my car will sell for £1200 without an M.O.T with its condition and mileage. But i would rather keep it than give it away.

Harsh but correct i'm afraid!pacerpete wrote:The reason your car is not selling is that it is £1000 too expensive !£1600 for a 325 auto with no mot or rear inner arches, no matter how shiny it is, is dreaming i am afraid.

Even that would be at least 600 quid over pricedchunkle wrote: £1600 is S reg E36 with MOT money fella.

Thats a fair comment IMO - have a look round the for sale section and £1000 offers you a variety of tidy taxed and tested 325s. This looks like a better deal than yours to me with 12 months MOT. Maybe you would be better off breaking it for parts, I have a mate with a buggered engine who would be interested at the right price..pacerpete wrote:The reason your car is not selling is that it is £1000 too expensive !£1600 for a 325 auto with no mot or rear inner arches, no matter how shiny it is, is dreaming i am afraid.

pnd wrote:ok lets be clear here, as I remember pacerpete wanted 2750 for an auto touring a week or two ago so he clearly thinks some e30's are worth money but perhaps only those owned for him. The reality is if you want decent money for it you need to fix the rot and mot it and then be prepared to wait. Also why have you let a good car get in a rusty state it rather undercuts your selling point viz that this is a well looked after car and therefore worth a premium.

A car with no m.o,t is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.pnd wrote:ok lets be clear here, as I remember pacerpete wanted 2750 for an auto touring a week or two ago so he clearly thinks some e30's are worth money but perhaps only those owned for him. His was a clean, MOT'd high spec car..pnd wrote:ok lets be clear here, as I remember pacerpete wanted 2750 for an auto touring a week or two ago so he clearly thinks some e30's are worth money but perhaps only those owned for him. As I found out when I scrapped my beautiful white 2dr that had a rotten rear inner arch.Jhonno wrote:His was a clean, MOT'd high spec car..pnd wrote:ok lets be clear here, as I remember pacerpete wanted 2750 for an auto touring a week or two ago so he clearly thinks some e30's are worth money but perhaps only those owned for him. E30's that have inner arches and an MOT are worth something

Indeed but asking for the 'reasonable price' before the above is done just means it will stay with its current owner.pnd wrote:ok lets be clear again i said it needed to be mot'd and rust free prior to sale. Also i agree with pacerpete that good cars should command good money simply because it costs to get a good car one way or the other so spending that money on purchase price makes as much sense as spending it later. My point was if this car can be made nice by an mot and proper fixing of any rust then it should fetch a reasonable price.
who wants to swap something decent for a non mot'd car with no inner arches? out of the frying pan into the fire most likely.leigh wrote:we'll see guys! I have a few options at the moment with people wanting to swap!
