If it's got an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser fitted (which a lot of E30s do) the battery will be sapped when left to stand whatever battery you use. If it's properly charged it should last more than 3 days though. If you're leaving it for longer may be worth just disconnecting the negative connection to save the juice!Alex wrote:just went to start it today after being stood 2-3 days and battery was weak, so will be ordering a new genuine bmw battery when i have the moneyand iirc there cheaper than halfrauds and ive known them to last upto 10 years, would like to see a halfrauds battery do that

Just looking back over this thread again, I can't believe how good a car this looks for £500, dirty interior or not. Tidy up what needs tidying, stick some 15" BBS on there and never ever get rid of it, coz you'll regret it. The floorpan looks mint which I thought was near impossible! Burn that gearknob though!!!
I would ditch the front mudflaps as they are a horrific rust trap, and the rear ones on their own will look a bit daft although I reckon they protect the valance quite well from getting peppered. If you like the flaps (oo-err), take them off and clean behind them every time you wash the car, and hammerite the brackets for the front ones and use galv nuts and bolts.

i dont think i would buy new genuine bmw parts from anywhere else than bmw because other companys selling them have to be making a profitCook318IS wrote:lol mines held back with cable ties a the moment after a run in with a drunk chavAlex wrote:lol the one thats currently on mine is a flexible one that appears to be held on by black duck tapeCook318IS wrote:Its comming on nicely!some nice bits and pieces there. reminds me that i could do with a new aeriel, its looking like a curved fishing rod at the moment
