i think it was only the 2.5 that high and low comp engines

The p/fl uses jetronic injection and the f/l uses motronic on the 320i. All 325i's use motronic though.

What he said! They've got a totally different injection / dizzy setup. I'm not sure of power /compression figures etc, but I'd expect the later one to be better. Plus, finding a solid pre-facelift 320i is not an easy task!
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...

As said above, the management is different, also on very early ones they have a mechanical fuel pump run off the cam IIRC.

Get a 318is for the PBMW championship.

L-jet used 9.8:1 comp (IIRC) and Motronic is 8.8:1.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

SELOC rules are very tight, you're only allowed untuned M40B18 or M20B20 engines. Everything between the air filter and exhaust downpipe must be standard.

In the New Zealand e30 class i compete in the best engine package is a p/fl bottom end and the f/l top end. This gives you the best compresion and the best injection setup
