it is a pre-facelift model judging by the lights, so the m-tech1 kit should fit.

get a pic of the kit up mate.

i thought the facelift lights were of the 'smiley' design, hence making this model pre-facelift.

that is a prefacelift car though, you can tell by the front valance.. its 'short' and the oil cooler sits below it

That's definitely a prefacelift car.

To fit the tech 1 kit you have to take the black plastic bump strips off the metal bumpers.

so its a prefacelift car, with facelift lights, in essence its a 'bitza'

Aswell the tech1 kit plastic bump strips are slightly different to allow for the skirt to fit underneath.
It sounds like he's trying to fit the whole bumper though.

All prefacelift cabs I've ever seen have had the projector lamps.

Yes Theo'na is right I believe. Early early cars didn't have projection lamps at all. 88 cars got the ones above. Late 88/89 cars got smileys.

Well maybe anyway. :)

My Baur's an 84 so obviously has chrome bumpers and has the same mounting irons is this pic, but does not have a steel valance fitted. Kit fits to the bumper, bumper attaches to the mounting irons + bolted through the end from each wing.

I wouldn't use the type of headlight as a clue to a cars age - could have been changed in the past by an earlier owner.

well it looks like i have to cut out on each corner under the crome bumpers to make it fit as for the front doesn't fit propally and for the rear i have to make a bracket because the mounnts dont fit with tec1 all fun thanks guys@zone

Sounds like you have the one piece bumper trim(number 11 in the pic).
Pretty sure you need the two seperate pieces, number 19 and 20 to be able to fit the front skirt.
Wait for someone to confirm though before taking my word for it

You are correct Eko. And then it sould go straight on. The front is spot on for fitment.
Now it is an 88 car with pre facelift bit's so now why is the rear not going on ??? Should also be the same fitment, as the kit more or less just hangs off the rear bumper. Or is the valence lower than the kit ??

Part 11 is the M Tech bumper rubber, 19 & 20 are the standard rubbers. These shouldn't effect the bumper fitting.

mariamu, before you start cutting things up, see if the valences can be unbolted and then fit the bumper to your car with the kit attached. As I said in my first post, mine has an M Tech 1 kit and has the same bumper irons as yours and there is no steel valance behind the kit.

All I've done in the photo below is take the bumper/valence and wings off

Image

Not the best photo, but I'll post a front on one as soon as I can.
