how do i tighten power steering belt

im a complete novice and i believe the power steering belt is loose on my e30 316 (1989). would really appreciate some step by step instructions.
have tried to losen the 3 13mm nuts but the whole thing just turns, what am i doing wrong .... cheers

one more thing how long would you expect the job to take just incase i have to pay someone to do it - dont wanna get taken in by a cowboy mechanic, thanks again

if memory serves me there is a bolt at the bottom of the pump (13mm) and loosen the bolt on the top of the pump its on a long bit of metal with a slot in it.
get a long bar and pull towards you not too much or you'll overtighten the belt and cause more problems.,tighten nuts up bobs your uncle no more screeching belt on hard lock
did mine took me 5 mins

cheers, someone told me i also need to loosen the 3 13mm nuts on the pully wheel too is that true?????

no, you shouldn't need to even touch the bolts/nuts on the pulley wheel.
