Moderator: martauto
morning chaps,
right, iv just gone and brought myself an E21! i know wrong section and what not but this thread is to find out what i should do with my 325i SE touring?
the touring is a 325i SE with most of the bells and whistles, it hasnt got a sunroof (its got AC), no rear electric windows (iv got rear motors and e36 switch conversion), no rear headrests, no heated seats, no cruise control. other than that its got it.
i just dont know if i should break her or try and get someones pitty in cash for her? maybe use the engine to dump into my e21?
come on lads! i need help! im losing my mind here not knowing what to do with the touring! i love the car and will only break if i can make a fair buck on her because shes such a nice car!

Breaking is easily the way to get the best return on the car. 200000 mile tatty auto tourings are not great sellers. BUT , breaking is only an option if you have the time/space/patience/room/skill to strip a turd bare and wait possibly 3 months for your return.

In that case You will just have to persevere and see if you can get anyone to give you £500 for the sad old snotter !

I think your only option is to give it a clean, take pics and put it up for a grand - someone might bite?

a pic the seller took, im yet to upload the ones iv taken to the PC.

my plans are to paint her matt black and slap on some Mtech stripes in the same place you've got your gorgeous alpina stripes.
but keeping on topic, would the 222K miles 325i lump iv got in my touring be any good? concidering its not been abused as its married to an auto box. . . im thinking about getting the two divorced and getting the old dog married up to a manual box with an LSD? also, where can i get hold of an LSD for an e21? (keeping on topic) will the e30 one fit?
are non sunroof touring easy to come by?

Nice... that car looks familier, is the owner on E21.net by anychance?
You need the E21 323 box mated to the 325 cos theres a speedo gear on the E21 box BUT on the E30 box although the same e.t.c. theres no speedo gear so you wont have that working.. i have x2 5 speed boxes spare if you need one... also for an LSD its essential but i could make some phone calls and try come up with something, otherwise get a 318is E30 LSD and fit it in the 323i Diff casing it fits... also you can go for an M535 side loader diff converted to the e21 diff subfram which is what i have, and this way it gives good economy on petrol and you have longer gearing in each rpms.
for me as i have a dogleg i reach speeds only too quick in each gears which benefits me more as i have destroyed two lsds so i had to opt for a conversion... anotherthing on the diff topic if you do decide to go for a diff conversion like i have then if you ever go for an M30 engine conversion then the diff would be perfect as the diff i have is also from the 6 series and are capable of taking abusing upto 600 bhp.... so no need to worry about ripping diffs apart..

picked it up from Worcester. only 79K on the clock, fresh mot, tax till feb next year. had it at 90mph for a fair bit of the journey back to london with no overheating, no breakdowns, no missfire, no cut outs and 30buck of fuel and ill still got just under 1/4 tank left.
the only problem with it is its too damn low! so im going to raise it about 20-30mm.

No, it isn't.murran wrote:its called "cool"............. you wouldnt understand.Drowningfool wrote:Did you actually pay money for that?tha_lick wrote:![]()
The lovely Mark 1 Golf next to it - now that is cool. It looks like it's had a lot of money spent to create a very tight looking old VW.
The car next to it looks like a 50 quider that has literally collapsed and died.
Btw it's 'paid', not payed.

I think that E21 is awesome looking, I don't care about "pretty" cars anymore, I've decided
Not in E30s any more
I think that looks awesome. Very evil looking and matt black would be great!
