guys, i recently brought my car and as per dips' advice, it is due a service (this weekend ok dips?)

anyhoo, ive got to go work tomorrow and the red service light has just literally come on..

i gotta do about 40 miles tomorrow to work and back..i know i probably shouldnt drive it..but will it do major damage? will it break down or something?.. i dont wanna break anything, etc!

it's only an indicator light, not a car self destruct light :wink:

Its only a indicator so dont worry about it , As long as its got oil in :wink:

most other cars dont have lights

anyway my mum has had her 1999 316i compact from when it was 2 year old and its never had the oil changed since she has had it and thats 7 year :eek:

the service reset lights have been reset loads of times tho winkeye

wouldnt worry about the light but id change the oil in your moms though :eek: 7 years

its only done 55k aswell, had 20k on when she got it. its well used and abused, stinks of fags inside, got keyed when she baughed it from the front all the way to the back and its still there :roll: her partner put some early e36 wheels on that look so wrong. still cleans up well tho

Get it nice and warm first, or it might not flow out of the drain plug.
You should be able to use it to fill any potholes on your drive or road.

the car does sound like there is loads of nails in the engine when you first start it must be because the oil is thick as fuk
