Help power steering fluid funny colour??

Hello i am new to e 30 ownership,just checking the levels on my 320i cab , noticed that the power steering fluid is a funny colour i.e grey pinky tinge, is this ok ? or should i be concerned, in the history that came with the car i have found 2 reciepts for replacement steering racks, the last one was replaced about 40k ago. My theory is that the racks have been replaced every time when perhaps the fault is the pump. I have no leaks or horrible noises and my steering seems reasonably smooth. Any one have any advice or possible cures cheers

if you look on top of the PAS resevoir cap it should say ATF.

If so this is a pinky red colour so is totally fine.

Mine is grey , flushed it out with new fluid (red) but it still returned grey, Im the same works fine no noise, done 4k like it, as they say "if it ant broke dont fix it! "
