Ok I've managed to get a little further into the boot area. Shit weather isnt helping either. It looks as if it's coming down from around the rear window area.
Fowler it's the N/S boot area. I'll try and take some pics

I've just done a water test and there are two places where water is evident. The first is from the electrical aerial section. And the second is from the rear quarter section. As you mentioned Fowler, I wondering if it could be the window seal.

I was told by someone that if you have pop out windows, when opening them, it can cause light surface marking/scratching will eventually leads to rusting/corriding and then A hole forms, from which water then comes into the car, hopefully this isn't the case, as you have looked at the arch etc from inside of boot which would show A hole letting in water but might be worth checking at the same time, behind door cards etc.

There is evidence of surface rubbing of the quarter windows over the years.

Further investigative evidence is leading me to what Mat mentioned earlier. Take a look at these grommets....
What you could say is Knacked being the polite word.
These grommets are from the rear quarter plastic panel near the rear window.

Once these were removed out came the hose and behold water in the boot area...there was also water behind the rear window seal too, so I'm going to order two new rear seals and grommets to. Hopefully this help solve the leak. Will keep you updated.

Thanks Ian. I've ordered two this morning. Not cheap though £22 per side1an wrote:Hubble as you have pop out rear windows the seals wear through over the years,
try changing the seals for the bmw items as that should solve that problem of around the rear 1/4 window.
