Starting to get really bored of my car.

I'm really not sure what to do with it.

It's very slow, it's rust and shite paint work. Interiors quite manky.

The only good thing going for it is the way it looks (From a distance) and handles. (Although looks poo without front spoiler)

I keep thinking about a new car but just the cost.

What can I do to my E30 with insurance or anything crippling me?

Jamie.

if its manky inside and out why dont you try and clean it up. a reasonable interior doesnt cost the earth and finding individual clean bits in a scrappy isnt hard either.

wish i had an e30 when i was 18...i had a shitty ford onion!

I haven't got the motivation to clean it up. And I don't want to be spending much money on it TBH.

I'm quite tempted by an iS just insurance will cripple me.

What fuzzy said !

But If we are wrong then it sounds like a 318is is the only way forward, Im pretty sure that 318is are classed the same as 318i for insurance 8)

It's quicker than a 1.4 C2. 206's and a few other cars.

But still loses to a 1.3 Micra.

The cam sounds fine.

Yes, I agree fuzzy, don't think I'll be in a E30 for much longer TBH. :?

I was feeling exactly the same about my black 316i and then the head gasket went

Then I got a 318i and soon got bored of that so I dropped a 320i engine in, the fuel prices were killing me and I got bored again so I scrapped that and now I have got a 325i cabby as a long term project

I have now realised that there's no point settling for second best, you might as well move on to the best e30 you can have i.e. a 318is or do what I'm doing and get a project so that by the time it's finished you can afford the insurance due to being older and also you will be happy with it

There was a MK2 Golf around here that I wanted and never knew it was for sale or it would of been mine. High lift cam, coilovers, the lot. Went for £500

Got to be RWD, drifting is too addicting.

Quote for E36 318iS... £2k, under my dad's name.

for the power of cars you are able to insure, there's little point in RWD dedication.

Young max, try admiral, pretend you are 18 as I think you are still 17 at the moment and see what a s13 200sx comes out at.

For a mate who was 22 with no no claims but no points, convictions and a good postcode it came to £500. I thought that was pretty good, mainly because he is a fucking nutter and more high risk than you! :)

A chipped 200sx, and come on, how many are chipped and the 'owner doesn't realise' are quite a good weapon.

When I was 18 Max I had a Sierra Saphire 1.8 glx, very nice inside, very cheap insurance, rear whell drive, and once u drop a 2.1 pinto in (which looks exactly the same, is cheap and is a very easy job) it will light up the rear all day long, most fun and reliability I ever had until I bought my baby.
