Hey, i know it's not much compared to some of you guys, but you gotta start somewhere. Only had the chance to drive with much enthusiasm in it a couple of times, but it's an absolute ball!

nice, good start there my 318i started out much the same as yours but i have slowly done some minor things to it, nothing performance wise really, just cosmetics to make it a bit better, swap them steelies for a set of BBS would be my bet as they complete the car

there was a set of 14s bbs' with decent tyres on here somewhere in bradford for 70 squids (nothing to do with the seller and might not be your cup of tea, but i will try and find the post)

much appreciated guys. it didn't take much looking to realise that this would be a good site to sign up to! you folks really seem to know your stuff.

robo, you're absolutely right about the wheels. wheels and some better tyres are definately my first port of call for this car.

The car cost me 400, 134k. Years MOT, loads of service history and no visible rust at all. I decided to go for an older car than i'd had previously. The reason being, that i want to muck in, get my hands dirty and try and do some work on it myself as required. I'm sure it'll need things doing, so you can bet i'll be posting away here picking your brains.

I'm based in Edinburgh, by the way.

Thanks again folks!

Welcome to the zone. May you have plenty of fun hours spent on here, as well as with your NEW car. It looks good for 400 and the mileage is good too. Well done.

Welcome to the zone, well youv certainly picked the right car to get your hands dirty on, its very diy friendly and a pleasure to work on if you have the right selection of hammers grinders and crow bars a good supply of plasters and anti depressants, youll find all the info you could ever need on here and a fair bit you never will but is bloody interesting all the same ! nice car for 400 by the way certainly better than mine for the same price(not the one in my sig) and your just across the brig from me as well

As far as I know this is an E30 site, anyone who owns an E30 is welcome. Some people keep theirs original, others modify them, some a little, some a lot. Some clean them, some detail them, some don't give a :cens: :teehee:

I fall into the little modified, wash it once a month camp.

sorry to dissappoint chaps, but militantmandy is in fact Nick! You can still call me love if you like....

As for the motor, things currently tickling my fancy:

Wheels and tyres (1st stop)
Possibly new springs and or dampers and or roll bars
Some interior bits - gear stick knob\steering wheel are botha bit knackered
Look into a we lip and boot spoiler. Original BMW ones though
HID (i think that's what i mean) headlight conversion. The standards are rubbish!
Brakes - new discs/pads at front. Replacing the drums at the back, although i fear that's perhaps more of a job than i could handle myself.

Engine wise. Well, i'm new to this, but at a guess:

Better air and oil filters
Possibly an induction kit

Any suggestions would be most welcome! I suspect this will be very much a work in progress!
