help wiring probs

ok chaps got a e30 cab 318 on sat

and just a few little things

the dial cluster doesnt seem to display how many bars are left on it
and also when the light are on they dont seem to display a light to show they are.
the mpg needle seems to just go to 0 when in 5th then driving very steadly
also the temp needle doesnt seem to sit in the middle ( but that could be thermostat)

any ideas what it could be

and also the electric mirrors dont work.
all fuses are fine

Mirrors: Fuse 19 is for the mirrors. Does the heater fan work?
Temp gauge: No9 reason why it should sit in the middle. Some do, but a lot sit just past the quarter mark. Both positions are perfectly normal.
Service LEDs: No light at all suggests that the little daughter circuit board with the LEDs and lamps on has been removed. Take the cluster out, open it up and check. Expect to have to replace the SI board, or at least it's batteries. Check all the bulbs that clip into the back of the cluster, tighten the two small brass nuts on the back of the cluster, and use the forum search function to look up '220 ohm resistor' while the cluster is out.

fuses seem fine will check i do have a spare cluster
and just thought it would sit at half as the e36 does
