Rite some of you may know ive sold my e30, but im going to get another around xmas time when i get 1 year no claims i know its a while away yet but i cannot wait!!!, driving a fwd 900cc corsa is killing me. and i need another e30

Not sure what e30 i want to buy here are my options.

1988 316 m10 facelift - poss turbo it and build a rather quick m10 in future as there is lots of talk about turbo m10's but not many people actually done it on here

316i/318i m40 --- do an engine conversion when i can afford it

320i --- build a cheapo 2.7 with 731 head in the future

318i cabby --- if i can get one around as close to a grand as poss

318is ---- insurance will be expensive but still possible

a 316i will cost me 1200 to insure with 1 yrs no claims
a 316 m10 -- 1700
a 318i - 1700
a 318is - 1900
a 320i - 1890

might seem expensive but i will still only be 17

316i is the obvious choice with those insurance quotes. You surely won't be able to insure a turbo or a 2.7 for a fair while yet, so they're hardly great reasons for spending a fortune insuring a 316 or a 320.

i relise i wont be turboing anytime soon just want to get a good base car and slowly imporve it over the years

the insurance quotes were just of the top of my head. i was playing on confued.com the other day seeing what i could afford i think some of them might have been cheaper than that now thinking of it :? im paying 1800 now for a 1.0 corsa

they sure do, its soooooo slow it wont even go past 80 mph how shit is that lol

fuel economy is good tho, does about 200 miles on 20 quid

nah had to sell coz insurance was taking the piss and i could not afford so sold the car and got a corsa for half the price and put the rest of money towards insurance 4 corsa

ahh im not too fussed tho, will get another in december

Jeez my little baby will get 80 in 4th winkeye winkeye

It's a step on the ladder, although £20 for 200miles is better than mine, mine does £20 to 100miles :(

That much for an iS!?

Anyway it's a shame you had to go to the gay side, but I'm sure whenever you do get another E30 you'll love it all the more!

So get some real insurance quotes! Write them down, & then if it's not obvious to you which is the best value, put em up here...

My 2.8i was an ar$e. 4 (or maybe 5) gearboxes in a year?! ****ing type-9 POS. Desperately want another one though, black mk3 again like my 2L, RS 4-spokes & chin spoiler. Except with a nice yank V8 this time. Got to (& will) be done. Minor problem being neither that or the E30 would be a daily driver, so unless I've got a double garage by then...

some exact prices of confused.com i could probly get them cheap with a bit of hunting about
316 M10 -----£1,621.51
318i M10 -----£1,670.55
316i M40 ---- £1,388.82
318i M40 ---- £1,723.05
318is --------£1,723.05
320i --------£1,849.05
323i ---------£1,776.60
325i :D ------ £2,046.41

how a 323i is cheaper than a 320i is beyond me :?

I know I'm going to start a fire but There's only one proper E30 and that's the 325, 4 cylinders are wrong unless M3 and I doubt your could afford to insure that or buy it the price of those these days...
