Unfortunately not Simon.

The seller is undergoing treatment for colour blindness as we speak. The car is actually Diamond Black! It is also a bit of a barn find I fear. 'we put a battery on it and took it for an MOT' type thing.

As the car is in surrey and the seller is unable to tell Black and Blue apart I was going to introduce him to Simon13 :)

I am thinking of going to view this car tomorrow, is there anything in particular with regard to proving its authenticity? (I am ok on the mechanical and structural side of things thanks) as usual a search shows it up as a 325i touring and I don't think there is much in the way of paperwork with it so will be going on whatever physical evidence I can find. You have to worry when it looks like a late touring with Alpina's and the badges on it!

well it might* be soon. I don't want to say now to stop you lot from coming up and taking it! Taken as an unwanted P/X guy selling doesn't have a clue and doesn't really care!

It's been in staines the last 10 years and then manchester. I don't know about the first owner. Loads of history but the service book is gone. BUT theres a copy of the original sytners build sheet for about £9,500 the engine was half of that. and "no front spoiler to be fitted" on it.

Thing is i've always understood it as an alpina green 4 door "on the J" was the last conversion but this is on a K reg and by the looks a 92 built touring

indeed but everything else to be fitted. It needs work engine bay is minging as in dirt, rear top mounts are f**ked. Gearnob has been chewed up. Theres a load of advisorys on the mot worn drop links front, tyre low and a few others. It failed the first because of a bad leak from the back box. but has a full ticket now. The backbox has new straps but is fitted badly. There was a whine from the back seemed like a wheel bearing but i'm not 100% sure. Drivers seat is worn on the base but it isn't hanging. Headlinging doesn't sag!

Tailgate is rusty, front wing dented. Paintwork is ok but the car was wet so i couldn't really see properly

it certainly does have grey inlet and rocker cover. Paint doesn't look to bad for chips and peeling either! Another comparison for you?

Trev i'll drive it over to you 1 weekend for some TFR action? it's not urgent
